XXIII maltatoday, Sunday, 26 april 2015 Motoring/Boating gourmet with food truck MSC Fantasia to bring 120,000 passengers to Malta this year MSC Fantasia sailed from Malta to Palma de Mallorca with 4,200 passengers on board on its first of 30 back-to-back sailings around the Western Mediterranean, starting from Malta. The luxurious cruise liner is again gracing Grand Harbour by return- ing here after a three-year absence, re-including Malta in its itinerary for its West Mediterranean cruises for 2015. The liner will bring in over 120,000 passengers between this April and next November. Between them the cruising visitors will inject over €9,000,000 into the Maltese econo- my, while discovering the attractions of Malta's history and culture. More than 3,000 passengers are being offered the opportunity to board the MSC Fantasia from Grand Harbour on an eight-day Malta-to- Malta cruises taking them to Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Marseilles, Genoa, Naples and Sicily. MSC Cruises has returned follow- ing high level talks last year at MSC's headquarters in Geneva between Hamilton Travel and MSC Cruises. MSC Cruises not only announced MSC Fantasia's return to Malta but also that between 2017 and 2020 they would be increasing their current fleet of 12 cruise liners by another four mega cruisers, which would be among the largest and most luxuri- ous cruises liners in the world.
