Rozum is a famous pianist, 'People's artist of Russia', the highest recognition in Russia, who also holds the Chair of Piano Music at the famous Gnesin Academy of Music, and serves on the Board of Trustees of music schools. FESTIVALS OCTOBER 16, 17 Qormi Bread Festival and Lejl f'Casal Fornaro The twin bread festivals of Hal Qormi will take place in mid- October this year, with the Qormi Bread Festival taking place at October 16, and Lejl f'Casal Fornaro on October 17. The Qormi Bread Festival will be taking place at St Paul's Square, and this year's main attraction will be the ikla tradizzjonali Qormija 'Mill-Kċina tan-Nannu Nenu'. Lejl f'Casal Fornaro is designed to promote Qormi's culture, tradition and folklore focusing on the town's traditional bakeries and its longstanding association with the Maltese loaf. Also this year's competition in Maltese culinary will focus on the Torta tal-Marmurat. OCTOBER 16-18 The Montekristo Festival The Montekristo Festival, Food Wine and Beer shall be held at Montekristo Estates from 18:00. CONFERENCES OCTOBER 16 The Translation Tradition From 18:00 - 21:00, a wide-ranging conference in Maltese on the Translation Tradition in Malta, 'It-Tradizzjoni tat-Traduzzjoni', is being held at the Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa (Birgu). This event is free of charge and open to the general public. The talks will be followed by light refreshments. OCTOBER 22, 23 Cultural Mapping: Debating Spaces and Places Valletta 2018 Foundation- organised conference at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta from 08:30 to 17:30.
