RWT is produced using single-region, Barossa Valley fruit and matured only in French oak. 2012 is one of the more formidable RWT's - reminiscent of the original release. The wine is sleek, muscular and rich, showing all the hallmarks of a truly exceptional RWT, however it will need cellaring to really showcase its true beauty. I hope you have not flipped to this page, convinced that you're about to read a controversial arti- cle, replete with accusations of … I don't know, child labour and store-bought patties. I'd hate to disappoint you so I'll lay it out nice and plain – I do not have a bad word to say about New York Best and I don't think I ever will. There. I said it. And I don't feel bad about that at all. I, like many of my friends and appar- ently everyone on the Internet, am a NYB groupie. I like that they don't mind a bit of controversy (remember Pink- gate?). I like that their posts are fun and that they take their time to make videos for their fans. I like that their crew seems to know their stuff and are seriously in- terested in food. And good grief do I love their food. Whether it's the pizzas or the burgers or their sublime chicken nuggets (clini- cally proven to cure sadness and mild headaches), you really can't go wrong. Because yes, sometimes you need some- thing smothered in cheese and layered with bacon but it doesn't have to be crappy cheese and plastic bacon. Even fast food can, and should, have dignity, in this modern world where eve- ryone is a little more aware of what we put inside our bodies. Even if it happens to be contained in a 350g beef patty that would make The Rock inhale sharply. In a relatively short stretch of time, New York Best has come to mean many things to many people. For the hungry University and Junior College students in Msida, it's a respite from the drudg- ery of endless study days, the anxiety of exams, the grumbles of stomachs forced to sit through interminable lectures at god-awful hours. I also have it on good authority that the academic staff feels the same way. In Sliema, it's a haven from the whirl- wind of shopping bags and 'honey, does this skirt make my ass look big?'. In Paceville, it's a good place to eat in an area increasingly known for being hit-and-miss in the nourishment de- partment. For everyone else, it's the go-to for a quick bite, worth the drive no matter where you are and what time that hunger pang kicks in. It's really difficult to find something wrong with this place, except maybe that it's exceptionally popular and you may unwittingly end up in the back- ground of someone's latest Instagram picture, wolfing down a Juicy Lucy with a less-than-graceful expression on your face. I would perhaps warn you about the salted caramel brownie – it might be wiser to share this one if you or your family members have a history of diabe- tes. Oh and don't bother with just four chicken nuggets. Go for the eight. Al- ways the eight.
