46 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 7 AUGUST 2016 Pet Nutrition House unveiled as MSPCA new sponsor MSPCA, formerly known as SPCA Malta, welcomed its new sponsor Pet Nutrition House, producers of the local pet food brands, Prince and Princess. MSPCA takes in, cares for and re-homes abandoned and un- wanted pets in Malta. The soci- ety recognises feeding time as the highlight in these animals' daily routine with exercise being a close second. Considering the lack of enrich- ment permitted by a kennel set- up, the society uses feeding time to improve the animals' mood. In order to maintain good health and happiness, animals need to get the necessary nutri- ents, in the right balance, deliv- ered in a way the body can make use of them. MSPCA, challenged and re- viewed their feeding regime and set out to find ways to improve it while also keeping costs to a minimum. A good balance be- tween satiation, health and cost was found in the Prince Com- plete and Vitality, a new line designed to be mixed with pre- mium canned food and to be cost-effective. "The philosophy of our brands Prince and Princess is that we are proud to make sure we take care of less fortunate animals by giv- ing contribution as our strategy in assisting with commitment", said Matthew Wismayer, manag- ing director of Pet Nutrition. Pet Nutrition House has given the society excellent rates to buy its pet food as well as committed to providing a 20kg starter pack for every animal adopted from the society. They sponsored MSPCA's recently-held Treasure Island Spring Fair at San Anton Gar- dens and will be attending events with the society whenever possi- ble while also providing tents and chairs. The sponsor will also be pro- viding the society with €250 worth of cat and dog treats and toys. The staff at MSPCA have also received a more vibrant col- oured uniform sponsored by Pet Nutrition for the Summer while the Winter uniforms are in the making. The society looks forward to a fundraising campaign antici- pated to happen in the coming months where proceeds from se- lected and marked products from the Prince and Princess brands will go to the MSPCA. "We are excited to be collabo- rating with a local pet food pro- ducer. This helps us have better control on what our animals are eating and allows us to give di- rect feedback on the formulation which in the end benefits all local pets. We look forward to more productive partnerships with lo- cal businesses to help us achieve the goals we have set out for the coming years," said MSPCA Chief Operations Officer, Sarah De Cesare Dunkerley. Now is the right time to insure your motorcycle MOTORCYCLES are increasingly becoming a very familiar sight on Maltese roads; in fact, recent Na- tional Statistics Office data shows that there are over 21,335 mo- torcycles registered and that the number of new registrations in the first six months of this year dou- bled when compared to the same period last year. This is not surprising as many seek to beat the ever-increasing problem of traffic congestion by switching to motorcycles. This was also helped by the fact that as a result of changes in driving licence regulations, motor vehicle drivers are able to drive selected small-powered motorcycles with- out having to sit for a driving test, though this is subject to some spe- cial conditions. So, whether you are a seasoned rider or a new motorcycle owner now is definitely the right time to start thinking about motorcycle insurance for your bike. Thinking about insurance is cer- tainly not the most exciting activ- ity one can engage in, and not only because it can be rather complex, confusing and time consuming. Ultimately what one needs is a competitively priced policy that offers just the right amount of cover. What is probably even more important is the peace of mind that the policy is backed up by a professional and experienced insurance company, with an excel- lent reputation in claims handling. As one of Malta's leading motor insurers, GasanMamo can cer- tainly claim this, and thus takes the worry out of buying motor- cycle insurance by providing customers with a policy tailored to their individual needs and re- quirements. With a dedicated customer ser- vice team who understand the in- tricacies of motorcycle insurance, GasanMamo puts the breaks on the uneasiness by working directly with their customers to provide them with the best cover possi- ble. GasanMamo not only already insures a large number of motor- cycles, but it also committed to providing its' customers with a highly competitive insurance deal, regardless if they have had previ- ous claims or own high-value or high-power bikes. Offering a wide choice of cover, ranging from the most basic third- party cover to the wide compre- hensive cover, which includes ac- cidental damage, and losses by fire or theft, GasanMamo can cater to all needs without compromising on quality. Insurance is there to protect you against the unexpected, but it is no replacement for being alert and driving safely. GasanMamo continues to support road safety initiatives and is always ready and willing to assist in such initiatives using its long and wide experience handling claims involving motor- cycles. As the total number of vehicles on our roads increases, it is up to all road users to be exercise even greater caution and to do our best to minimise the risk of an accident.
