40 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 18 SEPTEMBER 2016 Tipico Careers goes for platinum sponsorship at iGaming idol Tipico Careers has confirmed that it will be the Platinum sponsors of iGaming Idol, the iGaming awards event that will be recognising em- ployee initiative and commitment as well as providing charity and entertainment. The awards event will be held on 8th November 2016 at the Grand- masters Suite, Hilton Malta in col- laboration with the annual Malta iGaming Seminar. iGaming Idol is the first ever In- ternational iGaming Awards event that seeks to identify outstanding achievement and recognise. The awards will recognise individu- als from ten different categories namely, Marketing, Tech, Finance, Compliance, Human resources, Design, Data and BI, Fraud and Risk, Live Casino and Customer Service. Since the launch of the event, the organisers of iGaming idol have confirmed that several nomina- tions have already been submit- ted from the 8000 strong iGam- ing workforce. Today, Tipico has over 250 employees based at their headquar- ters in Malta. Nominations for the awards will be accepted up until the 30th of September, whilst the judging pro- cess will begin shortly after with a number finalists chosen from each category and invited to meet the expert judges where they will be tasked to prove their genuine- ness and talent. Three finalists will be invited for the Gala dinner on the 8th of November, where the award for each category will be an- nounced. The night promises to be glamorous with excellent food, entertainment whilst ten percent of ticket sales will be donated to the Malta Community Chest Fund. The award rec- ognises GO's positive impact on the Cypriot telecommunications market through its investment in Cablenet, the leading private- ly owned broadband provider offering broadband internet ac- cess, fixed telephony and digital HD TV services. GO's Chairman Deepak Padmanabhan received the award during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia attended by H.E. Presi- dent Nicos Anastasiades. The CIPA International Invest- ment Awards, organised togeth- er with leading Cypriot business publication Gold Magazine, honour international investors, individuals and companies for their substantial contribution to the Cypriot economy. Since 2012, a total of 36 CIPA International Investment Awards have been presented to organisations that have invested directly in Cyprus and created a value-added element for the economy, or established opera- tions and provided employment in Cyprus, or provided services to international investors and helped to attract other foreign investors to Cyprus. GO's investment in Cyprus began in 2014 with the acqui- sition of 25 per cent of the is- sued share capital of Cablenet, together with the provision of a €12,000,000 loan which was convertible into equity and, moreover, an option to acquire majority control should it wish to do so. In January 2016, GO's Board agreed to proceed with convert- ing the loan to equity and to also exercise the option to acquire majority control. Ltd. HSBC Bank Malta plc and Global Payments Ltd. have renewed their partnership with Definitive(ly) Good Guide Co. Ltd., publish- ers of Malta's best-selling sur- vey-based restaurant guide, for another three years. The guide, which is published annually as a printed booklet and on www.res- taurantsmalta.com, provides res- taurant reviews based on surveys submitted by restaurant goers in Malta and Gozo.
