FEBRUARY 25 Gaulitana: A Festival of Music Classical music festival at the Aurora Theatre, Gozo – now in its 11th edition. Madama Butterfly will be the highlight of the festival this year. The full scale production of Puccini's masterpiece, will present Malta's internationally acclaimed soprano Miriam Gauci in the lead role. Colin Attard will direct the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gaulitanus Choir. The opera night will be part of OPERA Weekend – an intensive programme of musical events concluding the festival. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL FEBRUARY 26 Snuff Boxes: From Accessories to Objets d'Art Exhibition of historic snuff boxes at Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum, Mdina. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 16:30. The exhibition brings together two hundred snuff boxes and related artefacts, sourced from museum, ecclesiastical and never-seen-before private collections in a show that charts the history of the snuff box from the most stunning examples to the variety of boxes that were created to hold the once precious powder, snuff. THEATRE FEBRUARY 22 RSC in Cinema: The Tempest Live transmission of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest at Spazju Kreattiv, St James Cavalier, Valletta at 19:30. FEBRUARY 24-26 Dear Pete Children's theatrical production at Spazju Kreattiv at St James Cavalier, Valletta at 18:30 TODAY WHAT'S ON In Guardia Parade Historical re-enactment at Fort St Elmo, Valletta at 11:00. The re-enactment portrays the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs. During the re-enactment, of the fort's garrison - some 50 re-enactors in all, kitted-out in their uniforms perform their military drill to demonstrate to the Grand Bailiff its state of readiness. Droning the Classics Concert by pianist Emel Hasanoglu and violinist Reggie Clews at The Splendid, Strait Street, Valletta at 14:00 forming part of the Strada Stretta Concept. Programme includes an interpretation of a Carmen Fantasy, Pablo de Sarasate, Spanish Dances op 22 no 1, Pablo de Sarasate, Carmen Fantasy op 25, Saint Saens, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Henryk Wieniawski, Scherzo and Tarantelle. Unintended Unifaun Theatre production of an original script by the company's founder and producer Adrian Buckle at Spazju Kreattiv, St James Cavalier, Valletta at 20:00. Directed by Stephen Oliver.
