maltatoday, SUNDAY, 19 FEBRUARY 2017 Events 43 Since 1996, Baladin has been synony- mous with Italian hand-crafted beer. Thanks to pioneering brewery founder and master brewer, Teo Musso's crea- tive f lair and commitment, hand-craft- ed beers are now served in the most refined restaurants and are included in the selections of the best pubs and shops in Italy. In these 20 years, Baladin has con- stantly and incessantly studied new ingredients and production methods, so as to always offer the best possible products. And today, Baladin beers are produced with the best technologies to ensure an artisanal and consistent product. In November 2016, Teo Musso raised more than €80,000 through an In- diegogo crowd-funding campaign to create a Baladin Open Garden. The 786,000-square-foot beer park in the country's Piedmont region will open on the summer solstice in June 2017. At the heart of it all is Musso's 'Earth to Beer' concept. Anchoring the park in Piozzo is a re- stored 17th century farmhouse. A mi- cro malt house on the property will ex- plain the process of converting Italian barley into malt and provide specialty malts for a new beer, Baladin Open Gar- den, which will be served exclusively at the park. The second f loor includes a space to dry hops picked from 2.5 acres of fields nearby. And tours of a food lab where visitors can learn how chocolate is produced will be followed by a guided pairing of Baladin beers and chocolates. "Teo has found a way to allow people to engage directly with the production of beer's raw materials," says Fabio Moz- zone, Baladin's marketing manager. Converted cattle stalls will serve as a pub, and every Sunday a local butcher will sell meat that can be cooked at the park on grills located between the malt house and the hop trellises. Guests will even be able to ask for help from chefs on staff. Meanwhile, the kitchen will cater dinners and events. The new farm brewery will be set up to teach guests how beer is made ac- cording to Baladin's Earth to Beer ag- ricultural philosophy, and will have an annual production capacity of about 42,600 barrels. Ultimately, Musso hopes the company he founded 30 years ago will be almost completely autono- mous by 2022. Isaac, Nora, Nazionale and Super Bit- ter from the Baladin range are available in Malta, and are imported, marketed and distributed by Farsons Beverage Imports Company (FBIC) Limited, a member of the Farsons Group. Chanel Blue Serum – A unique inspiration Research took inspiration from atypi- cal locations, called blue zones, charac- terised by populations with exceptional longevity. In addition to remarkable ecosystems, these populations all share a lifestyle based on four major com- mon factors: a healthy, balanced di- et, regular physical activity, better stress management and a close- knit social structure. Three labelled Chanel active ingredients Blue zones, true sources of inspiration, are replete with plants recognised for their power and effectiveness. CHANEL Research therefore focused its attention on nutri- tious plants endemic to these zones, selecting a combination of three ingredients able to intervene on all four of these levels: green coffee of Costa Rica, the olive of Sardinia and the lentisk of Greece. Then, in keeping with its expertise, it combined the power of nature with avant-garde technologies to create pure, powerful active ingredients. Meticu- lously concentrated through customised extraction processes, these three active ingredients improve cutaneous lon- gevity and activate the skin's youth- fulness. Application after applica- tion, skin appears younger and healthier. It is smoother and firmer, and the complexion is more even. A universal skincare product With BLUE SERUM, it's not about combating aging, but rather about wellness with a new approach to skin youth- fulness. Women become active participants in their own beauty. Compatible with any skincare line, BLUE SERUM is a serum that initi- ates the daily beautiful ritual.
