45 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 19 FEBRUARY 2017 Mega line-up of live music concerts planned by Toyota Malta The Debono Group have recently taken the wraps off the latest ad- dition to the Toyota line-up, in- troducing the new Toyota C-HR to the local market. To mark the occasion and pro- vide a greater opportunity for the public to view the said car, Toyota will be hosting Malta's very own Toyota C-HR Music Festival, with some of Malta's top per- formers lined up for the occasion. Spread over three evenings, the events aim to attract enthusiasts of jazz, house and commercial pop music, with artists including Nadine Axisa and Conrad Briffa (Jazz Night on 23 February), Brooke Borg (Commercial Pop on 9 March) and Miss Roberta (funky house party on 6 April). The events will be free of charge and open to the public at large, however one will have to pre- register online at www.toyota. com.mt to receive their VIP invi- tations. Asked what spurred the idea for the music festival, general man- ager for Michael Debono Ltd, Pat- rick Clark, stated that the Toyota C-HR was really a crossover – a cross between a hatchback, SUV and coupe. "Unlike any number of other conventional rivals, it aims to use sheer wow factor to stand out," he said. "The music festival is just one way to convey this message and show how dynamic the car can be." Distinctive styling, classy cabin, grown-up driving dynamics and decent value for money, expect to make the Toyota C-HR a favour- ite amongst its peers, ref lecting the vehicle's success throughout Europe. More information about the Toyota C-HR Music Festival can be found at www.toyota.com.mt or on tel- ephone 22694000. St Michael School and Foundation donate over €2,600 to Puttinu Students from St Michael School in Pembroke together with a group of Form 2 students from St Michael Foundation recently presented a total of €2,620 to Puttinu Cares Foundation. The donation of €2,200 by the students in the Junior School was presented at the school premises in Pembroke to Victor Calvagna, President of the Puttinu Chil- dren's Cancer Support Group in the presence of the school prin- cipal, Annemarie Carabot. The money raised by the students came from a series of initiatives which included the production and sale of Christmas cards by the students themselves, a book and cake sale and a donation of €1. Whilst commending the stu- dents for their initiative, Carabot said that sharing and caring for those who are less fortunate in our society was a key philosophy of the school. "Given the environment our young students are exposed to, as educators we want to instill in them the spirit of giving and sharing with others," she said. Carabot also spared a thought for one of the school's students who was currently undergoing cancer treatment at Mater Dei hospital. Calvagna thanked the students and the school's management for such a kind gesture and said such funds would go a long way to- wards assisting affected children and their families by improving and promoting good care and practice. Furthermore the mon- ey would be used to increase the funds going towards the latest project, that of buying new prop- erty in London to accommodate more patients and their families. The donation of €420 by the Form 2 students of St Michael Foundation was presented to Andrew Decelis, member of the Puttinu Children's Cancer Sup- port Group in the presence of the school's headmaster, Alfred Sant Fournier at the school premises in San Gwann. The money was collected dur- ing the run up to Christmas, by a group of students who wanted to contribute towards the well- being of other children who were undergoing medical treatment during the Christmas festivities. Students' fund-raising initiatives included the production and sale of Christmas cards, a book and cake sale and a donation of €1
