EXHIBITIONS UNTIL MARCH 22 Rituals for Our Safety Exhibition by Nikolas Ventourakis at Blitz, St Lucy Street, Valletta. Ventourakis is an artist in residence at Blitz, and the multidisciplinary exhibition will combine photography, projections and installation of new works created during the month-long residency. PUBLIC LECTURE MARCH 16 Emvin Cremona: Dnub il- Mejjet and Abstraction Public talk about the iconic Maltese artist Emvin Cremona at Splendid, Strait Street, Valletta at 14:00 by Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci and research student Nikki Petroni. Emvin Cremona is one of Malta's most enigmatic modern artists. His reputation as a prolific church painter contrasts with the production of his pioneering abstract works. This problematic aspect of Cremona's oeuvre and the politics embedded in his artistic choices will be openly debated. MARCH 16 Scenes of a City – Photography Competition Launch The official launch of Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar's photography competition, Scenes of a City, where Maria Attard, an expert on transport and urban planning, will be giving a lecture on what sustainable development in the 21st century should really look like.
