maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 15 MARCH 2017 17 Events Frank Salt to promote Malta property to South African market BETWEEN 14 and 16 March, Frank Salt Real Estate director Grahame Salt, and Chief Opera- tions Officer Darren de Domen- ico will once again be promoting property in Malta to a large num- ber of potential investors in South Africa. Salt and de Domenico will be accompanied at the 'Malta resi- dence, visa and investment sem- inars' by Frank Salt Real Estate's agent in South Africa. "This new series of seminars has been organised in response to the large number of requests for similar initiatives by South Africans who are looking to purchase property in Malta and Gozo as an investment or due to interest in residence pro- grammes," Grahame Salt ex- plained. "The number of South Afri- can nationals investing in prop- erty on our islands is on the in- crease. We are working hard so that Malta, which has so much to offer, will benefit from the high interest shown. Investment does not stop stop with their purchase of property. These are wealthy clients who bring rev- enue to our islands, as do their family and friends when they visit." The series of seminars which will be held in major cities in South Africa will be further supported through follow-up by Frank Salt Real Estate and through the strong association the company has with local law firms, tax advisors and other ancillary services. "Our long years of experience in dealing with foreign clients have made us exceptionally well equipped for promoting local property to overseas markets. We have promoted Malta in South Africa in particular for twelve years," Salt explained. "Every year we tap into new markets and strengthen famil- iar ones, with China, Scandi- navia, Russia and of course the UK featuring among our most recent overseas visits and plans for this year." Frank Salt Real Estate Director Grahame Salt addressing potential investors during a seminar in South Africa late 2016 Batree replaces Batterina - GreenPak's latest initiative BY the end of 2017, GreenPak Coop Society is aiming to reach the EU's 45% collection target for Malta, which means that almost one half of used batteries will be recycled on an ongoing basis. For this purpose, GreenPak Coop Society has launched a nationwide battery compli- ance scheme called Batree. The scheme is the result of intensive preparatory work hand-in-hand with the authorities and the ma- jor battery importers who are all members of GreenPak. All types of batteries, including rechargeable batteries used for handheld devices, such as port- able lights and remote controls, from 9 volts down to button batteries used for watches and clocks, will be collected. Vehicle and industrial batteries are not covered by this scheme. The national GreenPak Batree scheme is replacing the previous Wasteserv's Batterina campaign, and will collect batteries from numerous locations including shops, supermarkets, schools, local councils and offices. GreenPak 's CEO Mario Schem- bri said: "One of our goals is to raise awareness about battery collection and how important it is to recycle batteries cor- rectly and not dispose them in the black bag or thrown away in the countryside. Batteries con- tain hazardous materials and do harm the environment if not dis- posed correctly." "As from now on, it is going to be much easier for consumers to recycle their batteries by safely depositing them in special des- ignated battery collection boxes. We are working with several retail outlets, institutions and local councils across Malta and Gozo to serve as venues for col- lection bins distinctively marked Batree. The public is being en- couraged to drop off their bat- teries at any Local Council," said Schembri. Established in 2004, GreenPak runs waste recovery compliance schemes, in accordance with lo- cal and EU legislation. Green- Pak, which already operates the Packaging Waste Recycling Scheme and the WEEE Recy- cle Scheme, both authorised by the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) is now running Malta's national battery collec- tion scheme Batree scheme. Outlets wishing to be part of this national effort to col- lect used batteries for recycling can contact GreenPak on tel: 21660233, while in the coming days the public can visit www. greenpak.com.mt for further in- formation on battery collection points available around the Mal- tese Islands. GreenPak's Batree containers will be installed at various outlets and Local Councils for the public to drop off their used batteries Draught in a can - Blue Label Smooth & Creamy may now be enjoyed from the comfort of your home THE renowned Blue Label Smooth & Creamy has just been launched in a 44cl can allowing loyal drink- ers to enjoy this special ale from the comfort of their own home. This is possible through an inbuilt widget technology that releases just the right amount of nitrogen to cre- ate the perfect surge and distinct smooth and creamy finish, which to date has only been available on draught in selected outlets across the island. "This launch marks yet another milestone for us here at Farsons Brewery, and more specifically for Blue Label," said Karl Bondin, Brand Manager Beers at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. "This is also the next step in our long-term vision to increase the brand's presence in both the lo- cal and export markets." Martin Polidano, Head Brewer at the Farsons Brewery added, "The ingredients making up the recipe of this brew have remained the same over the years and the beer is brewed using the same technique. However Blue Label is now a more concentrated brew, with a fuller body and a higher alcohol level, re- sulting in a stronger and full-bod- ied taste profile with a richer taste and aroma." Blue Label Original Amber Ale is top-fermented ale, hopped and mixed with a special type of mild malt that gives the richly coloured ale a unique, surprisingly smooth and mild taste arising from its medium hop bitterness. Contains distinctive chocolate and caramel notes with a hint of fruitiness. Blue Label Smooth & Creamy is the draught version of the original ale. In November last year, Blue Label was awarded silver in the Pale & Amber Ale: Best Bitter category of the Brussels Beer Challenge. Blue Label is brewed, packaged and distributed by Simonds Far- sons Cisk plc. Blue Label Smooth & Creamy in a 44cl can is now availa- ble at major supermarkets and retail stores in Malta and Gozo.
