42 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 16 JULY 2017 A group of over 70 employees, senior management and partners of Grant Thornton recently took part in a number of challenging water-themed adventure activi- ties as part of the firm's ongoing team building programme. The aim of the event was to engage the participants in team- building activities away from their offices and day-to-day roles, while encouraging them to get to know each other better, and try their worth at some unusual outdoor activities. The event was held at the picturesque Gnejna Bay, which lent the perfect set- ting for a summer-time company event. The team was only given a ren- dezvous point early in the day, lit- tle knowing that by the end of it they would have had to build an artistic monument, form a human water cascade, roll incessantly in the sand, battle it out for the last bucket and spade, and ultimately give the sweat of their brow for their team to complete the as- signed tasks in the shortest time possible. The most difficult of all was a task which required them to build a human 6-person wheel- barrow, with both hands and feet tied, whilst scurrying the 80m distance on an uneven, hot and sandy track. 'Our team is composed of just under 100 employees, all com- ing from different walks of life. We also boast a highly interna- tional and multi-cultural team of professionals' said Mark Bugeja, Managing Partner. 'Yet together, we share a com- mon vision, based on mutual val- ues – providing our client with the best service possible and help- ing them unleash their potential for growth. For us to achieve this, we need to first and foremost re- lease and nourish our very own instinct for growth. Activities such as this go a long way to do so, whilst enjoying an informal and singular environment. They help bring people together by encour- aging collaboration and team- work. With an element of fun ac- tivities participants see each other in a different light allow them to connect in a different setting." The team-building event would not have been complete without ample laughter, tear-jerking mo- ments and of course good food! A the end of the day, the over- all winner was the Jellies team, composed of Glen Attard, Dar- ren Borg, Andrea Mangion, Lynn Kerry, Alexis Agana and Wayne Pisani. The team-building event was held at Gnejna Bay and saw employees, senior management and partners of Grant Thornton develop their skills and relationships away from the office Natural at all times Like a breeze of freedom; LES BEIGES has made natural a style in itself. Inspired by the singular light that shines on fresh skin, this healthy glow has broken away from the rhythm of fashions and seasons to adopt outdoor beauty all year round. It's time to take a moment for yourself, regardless of the hour, to free yourself from the diktats of day and night. A break to give a second wind to your complexion and your mood. Today, LES BEIG- ES expands with three new prod- ucts, as intuitive and on-the go as ever, to set your watch to the beige hour whenever you wish. Simplicity is the best ally of your allure. This is why each LES BEIGES creation meets the same stringent demand: that of being self-evident by instantly enhanc- ing comfort, pleasure and el- egance. In line with this state of mind, Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation, Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette and Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick now take natural to new heights. On-the-go. Ergonomic. Intuitive. LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation concentrates several technological innovations in a single case to make a natural complexion even easier to achieve. To make this possible, CHANEL Research developed an unprec- edented aqua-gel foundation. This jellified, aqueous emulsion is un- believably lightweight, offering an immediate sensation of fresh- ness, while visibly embellishing the skin. An instant twofold effect to en- joy as often as you wish, as it never weighs down the complexion: its ultra-fine texture can be used on bare skin or over existing makeup for touch-ups. Stretched over the surface of the case, the flexible mesh releases just the right dose of foundation. Mistakes are impossible; simply press this ultra-fine mesh with the foam sponge and the perfect amount of product is ready to be patted onto the face. For more sophisticated coverage, it can also be applied with the new Retractable Foundation Brush. Adapted to all situations, this brush with its ultra-soft bristles comes in a retractable case. Per- fectly shaped, it is the dream part- ner of fluid, gel or cream founda- tions. It reaches every area of the face, even the corner of the eyes and the sides of the nose, making touch-ups easy at any hour of day or night. Foundation has never been so easy to apply. On the bus, in the street, at the office or in the elevator before an evening out or a meeting, the skin instantly regains irresistible freshness and radiance. A healthy glow is not only deter- mined by the complexion. It also depends on the freshness of the eyes. To boost their natural spar- kle, CHANEL has carefully select- ed five shades that embellish the eyes every time. Five eyeshadows designed to open up, intensify, en- ergize and illuminate the eyes. The slightly pearly light beige shade can be applied on its own or as a base under another colour to boost its luminosity. The two other light shades — a satin pearly pink and a matte brown — soften tired-looking features. The last two darker eyeshadows — a satiny black and a matte taupe — outline the eye contour to discreetly open up the eyes. A palette of subtle shades adapted to all skin tones. After the success of the Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick, CHANEL adds two origi- nal shades to the cheek palette: slightly iridescent pink and coral. Designed to match perfectly with the entire LES BEIGES palette, these on-the-go sticks give spon- taneous momentum to makeup. Velvety and refreshing, they smooth on easily with fingertips. Their creamy texture melts away and blends beautifully on cheeks, without looking overdone. Blush has never been so simple, easy… and sheer. LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick offers a second-skin sensation. Melting comfort en- riched with a concentration of white rose and cotton flower plant cells. Finally, the formula also in- cludes a subtle dose of pearly par- ticles to reveal the natural radi- ance of the complexion. The Office initiates such an in- vestigation when it considers that the proposed market concentra- tion raises serious concerns on significant impediment to effec- tive competition in the market. Typically during Phase 2 investi- gations, the Office will conduct detailed research and analysis on issues such as the possible increase in prices that the ac- quisition may cause and possible anti-competitive behaviour that may result from the creation or strengthening of dominance in the market. A GO spokesperson noted: "The proposed takeover of Vodafone, in a critical sector such as tel- ecommunications, is unprec- edented as it reduces the number of major competitors in the mar- ket down to two. This would be, by far, the largest market concentra- tion in Malta's history and, unless it is properly implemented and adequate remedies and safeguards are provided for, it could have very far reaching and long term impli- cations and negative outcomes for consumers and ultimately for the whole country. It is hardly surpris- ing therefore that the case is be- ing followed closely in Malta and beyond, and that objections have been raised by consumers groups. "The fact that the Office has, correctly in our view, decided to go into a much more thorough Phase 2 investigation should mean that the proposed acquisition will be given proper evaluation and that adequate safeguards may be provided to ensure the sector remains viable and that consum- ers continue to enjoy real choice. Naturally, as an interested third party, GO will continue to col- laborate fully with the Office for Competition and present detailed technical economic as- sessments on the matter. "As we have repeatedly stated, GO does not fear competition – indeed we welcome it because healthy market competition ben- efits consumers and drives in- novation. However unless there is a proper level playing field one might end up in a scenario where ultimately competition and the consumer lose out. We augur that this can be averted.'' NM Arrigo Ltd recently signed an agreement with Grey Wolves FC, endorsed with Perskindol products. Grey Wolves FC is an amateur 8-a- side football club, composed of 22 players, which currently plays in the F.A.L. 8- a-side football league and knockout tournament in Għarghur. The club was formed in 2016 by a group of friends who shared a love for the game and wanted to improve their fitness. Although their first season had mixed results, the team was just a playoff match away from promotion to the Second Division. "The bittersweet ending to a posi- tive first season did not dishearten the wolves and the club is looking to bounce back by gaining promo- tion in the 2017/18 season," a team spokesman said. With the injection of new play- ers, their partnership with Per- skindol and with a new found sense of unity, the club is very con- fident of achieving its goals in the upcoming season.
