43 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 20 AUGUST 2017 The Concept Stadium has re- newed its Corporate Membership & Sponsorship Agreement with JCI Malta, extending a partner- ship aimed at empowering young active citizens to become entre- preneurs and develop their crea- tive skills. The Concept Stadium has thus committed itself to support JCI Malta in its marketing, public re- lations, User Experience and cam- paign management in order to de- velop the creative skills of the JCI Board. In a joint statement, Direc- tors Jonathan Dalli and Jonathan Chetcuti said, "When we speak of supporting local NGOs as part of our CSR strategy, we don't just mean financial contributions. We want to contribute by devoting our time and share our skills and knowledge as a boutique market- ing consultancy firm. We're look- ing forward to hit the ground run- ning with the JCI Malta team and we would also like to thank them for the trust". They also reiterated that this is a two-way relationship, where the Concept Stadium team is keen to participate in JCI events as JCI members themselves. In fact, the Concept Stadium will be hosting Adrian Corcoran and Kei- ra Keogh, the current JCI World Debating Champions to their of- fices in August, and who work in web design and behavioural con- sultancy respectively; in order to share their experiences with the Concept Stadium Team. 2017 JCI National President Ra- chel Cassar added, "JCI Malta partners with organisations that complement our values. For this reason, we are proud to be re- newing our partnership with the Concept Stadium. Their constant support is much appreciated, as it allows JCI Malta to increase its outreach in the most effective way possible". JCI have several projects in their pipeline, including the newly launched crowdfunding campaign on ZAAR – 'Let's Do It' National Clean Up campaign that will take place on 16th September. The campaign is targeting to raise over €10,000 to clean up the islands, while increasing aware- ness of littering and lack of recy- cling in Malta and with the ulti- mate aim of changing the mind-set of the Maltese population. National Florence Nightingale Nursing Award launched Vitals Global Healthcare, together with the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses and the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, have launched a new national award, to hon- our nurses who lead the way in the spirit of compassion, nurturing, knowledge through evidence based practices and research, and commitment to quality and safety. The award was launched during an event organised by MUMN in celebration of the International Nurses and Midwives Day at San Anton Palace in Attard, Malta. The award is a way to recognise the out- standing commitment demonstrated by nurses who constantly exceed expectations in their profession. Nominations will be received from colleagues and patients who experience the work of dedicated profes- sionals consistently and is open to profes- sional nurses licensed to work and actively employed in Malta for the last 5 years. The criteria for the Malta Florence Nightingale Nursing Award are: • 15% Excellence in clinical nursing skills • 15% Teamwork and development of ef- fective interpersonal relationships • 10% Community engagement: volunteer service activities, local or international 10% Effective leadership and manage- ment skills • 10% Publication of nursing related arti- cle, essay, opinions in local journals or periodicals • 10% Publication of research, EBP, re- search utilization reviews or research reviews in peer reviewed journals or nursing journals as primary author • 10% Publication or oral presentation of quality improvement projects or evi- dence-based practice (EBP) projects • 10% personal professional development through advancement in career • 10% professional development of other nurses through mentoring and coaching All applications will be de-identified and reviewed by a panel with members from MUMN, VGH and Malta Direc- torate, and one final winner will be an- nounced. Tess Panizales, Director of Nursing at VGH explained that the award was not only to give thanks to those most dedicated in the field, but also to moti- vate nurses to continue to develop and achieve excellence in their profession. "Nursing is far more than just a job, it is a calling and a lifelong profession. We need to motivate nurses and provide the opportunity to promote learning and professional growth, so we can continue the tradition to deliver the highest qual- ity and safe care to our patients." Maria Cutajar, President of the MUMN, added that the MUMN had always worked to see the advancement of the nursing profession and this new award continued to build on that. "As nurses, we are trained to work in a team environment which is why we are so pleased to collaborate with entities such as the Nursing Directorate and the team at Vitals Global Healthcare: together we believe that we can further strengthen and empower our healthcare profes- sionals working to improve the overall quality of care across Malta and Gozo." More information will be made availa- ble shortly on www.vitalshealthcare.com Tess Panizales , VGH's Nursing Director, announcing the award The Concept Stadium extends partnership with JCI Malta to empower youth entrepreneurs Young active citizens are empowered to become entrepreneurs and develop their creative skills The Qormi Wine Festival is back with a bigger line-up The 13th edition of the Qormi Wine Fes- tival is set to be the biggest ever, present- ing a huge number of attractions, mas- sive concerts spread on two days, a wide range of Maltese wines, various food stalls, competitions and much more. This open air fes- tival will be organ- ised this Friday and Saturday in Main Street Qormi, next to the St George's Parish Church, from 7:30pm till late. This year the Qormi Wine Fes- tival will feature Karen and Harvey for the first part of the night and Vinny Vella's band featuring Andreana who will be the main at- traction on the Mainstage on Friday night. While at the chill-out area the band led by local duo Xarulu' who will present a two-hour non-stop music. On Saturday Xarulu' will warm up the crowd for another concert, this time by Mark Spiteri Lucas and Band, featuring Kaya, Ivan Spiteri Lucas, Mike Spiteri, Neville Refalo and Chiara. The chill-out area will be hosted by the trio 'Karma Train'. The Santa Marija accordian band will take part for the first time dur- ing both nights of the event in Rock Street. The Qormi Wine Festival is also a massive event for food and wine lovers. This year will host different food stalls, ranging from chicken with baked potatoes, the Maltese t r a d i t i o n a l ftira, wraps, penne and fried ravjul and freshly baked pizza. The Qormi Wine Festival is again teaming up with Marsovin to pre- sent the most exclusive wines pro- duced locally, including Ċittadella, La Vallette, Verdala Rose', La Torre, 1919 and the whole Caravaggio range. There will be also other wines like Sottovoce Rose', Ulysses and Odyssey. To drink wine, you will need to pay €15 and you in turn get 15 tokens and a souvenir wine glass. On Friday, the famous Wine Com- petition will be held along Main Street, awarding the best wines in different categories. The Qormi Wine Festival is or- ganised by Kumitat Festi Esterni, with the help of the Qormi Local Council.
