OCTOBER 21 An Evening With Simon Critchley The Futures of Literature Research Network presents an evening with Simon Critchley, who will be reading from his latest book What We Think About When We Think About Football. The event will be taking place at the Valletta Campus of the University of Malta, St Paul 's Street, Valletta at 18:00. A wine reception will follow the talk. Simon Critchley is Hans Jonas Professor of Philosophy at the New School for Social Research in New York. FESTIVAL OCTOBER 7 Notte Bianca – Lejl Mdawwal 2017 Annual all-night celebration of arts, culture and entertainment across the streets of Valletta. Programme of events starts at 19:00, with the majority of events ending at 00:00 while the city's bars and establishments will be open throughout the celebration. THEATRE OCTOBER 1, 6-8 Skylight by David Hare MADC Theatre production of David Hare's Skylight at the Valletta Campus Theatre, St Paul 's Street, Valletta. Directed by Andre Agius and featuring Stephen Oliver, Simone Spiteri and Alex Weenink. On October 7, the performance will be a Notte Bianca special at 18:30, which will include a complementary welcome drink and a post-show Q&A session with the actors and director. ENTERTAINMENT & NIGHTLIFE THURSDAYS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 28 Maltese Nights at Valletta Waterfront Take in the scenic Grand Harbour views and re-live traditional Malta at Valletta Waterfront every Thursday evening until September 28. Activities include traditional folk dancing, falconry displays, "terramaxka" (street organ) music, artisan market stalls, as well as duelling parades between the Knights of St. John and the Ottoman Turks, amongst other activities. OCTOBER 14, 15 Malta Military Tattoo 2017 Annual event held at the National Park, Ta'Qali from 19:00. Featuring military bands and other elements which come together to provide a show for audiences of all ages. The music played combines popular tunes with more classical fare, and are all performed in the context of a Military March parade.
