46 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 1 OCTOBER 2017 Explore the art and use of essential oils for better living ESSENTIAL oils are natural aro- matic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and pow- erfully fragrant. If you have en- joyed the fragrance of a rose or the smell of freshly cut mint, you have experienced the aromatic quali- ties. Essential oils can lift the mood, calm the senses, and elicit power- ful emotional responses. Yet the use of essential oils goes well be- yond their fragrant appeal. They have been used throughout his- tory in many cultures for their health-promoting properties. Modern trends toward more ho- listic approaches to self-care and growing scientific validation of alternative health practices are driving a rediscovery of the pro- found health benefits of essential oils. Many have powerful cleansing properties. Their unique chemical structure allows them to deliver targeted benefits through topical application. Certain oils may be used as dietary aids to promote vitality and wellbeing. doTERRA means "Gift of the Earth" doTERRA® CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils are pure, natural, aromatic com- pounds carefully extracted from plants. They do not contain fill- ers or artificial ingredients that would dilute their active qualities and are free of contaminants such as pesticides or other chemical residues. Keeping contaminants out of doTERRA oils, and assuring the presence of the oils' active com- pounds at the right levels are nec- essary to guarantee safety and ef- fectiveness. Many oils claim to be the therapeutic grade, and some may be pure but few are subjected to rigorous testing standards for chemical composition. doTERRA CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils are cross test- ed using Mass Spectrometry and Gas Chromatography to ensure both the extract purity and com- position potency of each batch. Using essential oils is intuitively simple and highly satisfying. How- ever, the many oils available with their numberless combinations and wellness applications can be a bit overwhelming to beginners. doTERRA Essential Oil Classes and AromaTouch Technique Course "If you have a passion for health and wellness and want to learn more how to use doTERRA es- sential oils and essential oils well- ness products, join our Essential Oil classes," said doTERRA Silver Wellness Advocate Joanna Con- stantinou, who is returning to Malta to give a series of classes. What is our next step in this regard? Amid other initiatives, we are once again hosting a range of short evening lectures. These are aimed at gaining a better understanding and knowl- edge about different subjects direct- ly related to planning. Ten Lectures: what will they cover? Following the lectures held in the past, we decided to keep the most popular ones. These include Histo- ry of Architecture in Malta, Online Planning Services, Best Practices in Restoring your old home, and Commercial Development - Plan- ning and Practice, amongst others. We are also introducing new top- ics which we believe will help to keep you, as a customer or profes- sional, adjourned with the trends and changes happening in the area of planning. The latest topics vary from The How, What and When of a Planning Application, Interior Design, Green Transport Plans, Planning for Sustainable Develop- ment, as well as Rehabilitation and Conservation of the Cittadella in Gozo. Key Speakers: who will they be? As in previous years, the presen- tations will be given by key speak- ers from the Authority, as well as prominent names in the plan- ning and interior design industry. These include Malta Architecture Awards winners Periti Martin Xuereb, Alexia Gingell Little John and Sarah Zammit Calleja. All lec- tures shall be conducted in English and a participation certificate will be sent to participants. When and where will they take place?
