47 Events maltatoday SUNDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2017 GO applies for 4G+ spectrum GO has submitted an applica- tion to the Malta Communica- tions Authority (MCA) to be al- located 800 MHz spectrum. The allocation of this spectrum will enable GO to launch 4G+ servic- es on a commercial basis in high population density areas. Stefan Briffa, Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs at GO, said that the allocation of the 800 MHz spectrum, which would bring Malta in line with the on- going deployment of 4G+ ser- vices across the EU, would be a key step towards enabling GO to provide 4G+ services. Following a review of GO's application, the MCA has just published a public call for expressions of interest. "This gives other operators the opportunity to submit their own spectrum applications prior to the launch of com- mercial 4G+ services in Malta. Any submissions would be as- sessed by the Authority, which then determines how the spec- trum is allocated," he said. "We have no doubt the Au- thority will oversee this process, which will require a number of months, in the usual diligent and professional manner and we will of course cooperate fully to ensure a successful outcome of our application.'' GO recently announced that it was investing €100 million over five years to upgrade infra- structure, on top of €240 million already invested over the past decade. This investment has al- ready resulted in GO having the certified best and fastest mobile network in Malta. GO is now ready to move forward to the next step, de- livering 4G+ services in those areas of Malta and Gozo with the highest demand. GO has been preparing for this f or some time and is ready to launch commercial 4G+ services the minute the MCA allocates the required spectrum. The new 4G+ spectrum will allow for even faster mobile data transitions Friday 27, October 2017, marked the launch of the new Veneta Cucine showroom, at the Fino building in Mriehel. Muscat unveiled the new show- room with the untying of the ribbon followed by a short speech by Paul Mercieca, Chairman C. Fino + Sons Ltd. Mercieca said that over the past 20 years, the company built a strong collaboration with Veneta Cucine, widely considered by the Fino fam- ily as the most important of their partnerships. Malta's showroom is Veneta Cu- cine's third largest in Europe, with sales in Malta ranking at the highest per capita sales in all of Europe. The new showroom will house the latest in trends and styles, including the collection recently presented at the flagship store in Milan earlier this year. Fino has always aimed at being in the forefront for high qual- ity furniture and new design con- cepts, and Veneta Cucine, without a doubt qualifies for both. During the event, the Fino Mar- keting Campaign 2017/2018, enti- tled "Each piece is from the heart" was presented. As part of the cam- paign a television commercial is being aired which as part of the company's commitment to sup- port local artists features an origi- nal soundtrack created by The New Victorians, especially for Fino.
