49 Events maltatoday SUNDAY 3 DECEMBER 2017 Chanel's La Crème Main WHAT can be found in a wom- an's handbag? Keys, a cell phone, a wallet, a signature lipstick… And what else? A hand cream, which she takes out of her bag several times a day. With hands that are constantly busy and "challenged" by fre- quent washing and damaged by the environment, pollution, sun, wind and cold, it is essential to preserve their beauty and youth- fulness. Inspired by the beautify- ing hand cream created by Mademoiselle Chanel in 1927, CHANEL now reinvented this essential step with La Crème Main. A complete care product for hands and nails that leaves skin moisturised, velvety and radiant, an all in one on-the-go item. So irresistible that to see it is to want it! La Crème Main can be used as often as one likes. During the day, reapply after wash- ing hands. In winter, apply La Crème Main as often as possible to prevent dryness and chap- ping. In summer, use as a night treatment. LOC8 App enables the users to quickly search for anything local, be it a business, a shop or even a product with a returning search list based on the nearest location. During a press conference at The Point Shopping Mall in Sliema, Rodney Testa, director of LOC8 said, "We are offering Maltese businesses the opportunity to be part of this digital platform and enabling their consumers to look up all their details and get them to their door through a fast, in- teractive and user-friendly experi- ence. We already have around 160 businesses which are accessible through the App and we plan to further build on this number by the end of the year." Through the App, the user will be provided with a full profile page of the business searched for, includ- ing details such as contact info, so- cial media links, images and video, as well as an original messaging solution directly within the App. Should the user want to visit the business store, the App can take you right at the doorstep of the searched business. Users can also directly message the busi- ness, leave reviews, and mark as 'Favourite' for a quicker find next time round. If a user wants to ask something in particular there's also a space within the App for holding community chats between other users. And if you're logged in and happy with search findings, you can just click and share in order to earn points redeemable for vouchers. Chris Cardona, Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses said the government was continuously improving its efforts for start-up businesses to achieve their aims. Blue Label wins Gold in Brussels Beer Challenge 2017 BLUE Label Original Amber Ale, brewed by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, has just been awarded a gold medal in the Pale & Amber Ale: Best Bitter category in this year's edition of the Brussels Beer Challenge. This prestigious award follows the silver medal awarded to Blue Label Ale last year. Blue Label, relaunched just last year as part of the Farsons Classic Brews range, is an amber coloured, top-fermented ale, hopped and mixed with a special type of mild malt that gives the richly coloured ale a unique, smooth and mild taste. "Receiving such an impressive accolade from one of the leading international beer competitions in Europe is no small feat for a small independent brewery as is Farsons Brewery. We are extremely proud to add this award to our beers' long list of international recogni- tions and applaud our brewing team who work very hard to ensure quality and consistency in all our beers," said Martin Polidano, Head Brewer at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. The Brussels Beer Challenge, the first professional beer competition in Belgium, was created by Becomev (Beer Communications & Events) under the leader- ship of Luc De Raedemaeker and Thomas Costenoble in 2012 in response to the growing interest in beer culture. The competition offers a unique opportunity for brewers from across the globe to compete with the finest Belgian beers. The first edition of the Brussels Beer Challenge took place in 2012 at La Bourse in Brussels and the aim of the competition is to offer consumers a quality seal awarded by industry members, to promote quality beers and encourage healthy competition within the industry. The sixth edition of the Brussels Beer Challenge was held from the 28th to 30th October in the city of Namur, capital of Wallonia, Belgium. Throughout these three days a tasting panel of 85 professional and international renowned judges tasted 1,512 beers from 40 different countries. The participating beers are grouped based on their origin, typicity and style and are judged according to strict, objective criteria. At the end of the three tasting days, the finest beers in each category are awarded a gold, silver or bronze award. Blue Label Ale is available in 330ml glass bottles as well as on draught and in 440ml cans in the hugely popular Smooth & Creamy version.
