Be very excited' MOTOGP promoter Dorna Sports has announced the sup- plier for the new FIM Moto- e World Cup electric series, which is set to begin in 2019. Italian firm Energica has been selected and will supply a tuned version of the Ener- gica Ego, which appeared in this year's Isle of Man TT Zero competition. Producing 145bhp and ca- pable of 150mph, the Ego will provide "world-beating perfor- mance but zero emissions" as it supports selected MotoGP events. "The FIM Moto-e World Cup is a new and exciting project for Dorna, and it makes us very proud to announce Energica will be the supplier in this new venture," said Carmelo Ezpele- ta, CEO of Dorna Sports. "We believe in excellence, quality and performance and we cannot think of a better col- laborator with whom to launch the FIM Moto-e World Cup. "Energica are an industry- leading and innovative compa- ny and we look forward to the incredible spectacle of electric- powered racing together." It was recently announced that Michelin MotoGP techni- cal chief Nicolas Goubert will leave the manufacturer to head up the Moto-e World Cup. AMERICAN Serena Williams dropped a large hint that she could soon be back on court competing when she posted an Instagram photo of a pair of dazzling gold and white tennis shoes. Williams, who won her 23rd grand slam singles title at last year's Australian Open before taking time out to have her first child, has entered next month's tournament in Melbourne. "Be excited. Be very excited..." the 36-year-old said in the post which attracted 135,000 likes in the space of an hour. Williams gave birth to Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. in Sep- tember and was married to Alexis Ohanian last month. Few female players have won grand slams after tak- ing a break to start a family, although Kim Clijsters won the 2009 US Open in her third tournament back after having a daughter. Australians Evonne Goolag- ong and Margaret Court also managed it. Court's 24 grand slam singles titles remains a re- cord although only 11 of them were in the professional era. Serena Williams
