maltatoday SUNDAY 1 APRIL 2018 32 This Week WHAT'S ON EXHIBITIONS APRIL 4-MAY 2 Terrae Exhibition of works by Victor Agius at Iniala5 Galleries, Old Treasury Street Valletta. Agius examines the formless matter proper to his own experience of the environment – either ran- domly or carefully selected sites with their distinctive ecologi- cal and archeological features – which all finds its roots in the earth or soil-derived organic materials (raw clay, for instance, beside natural pigments, oils and acrylics). This has allowed him to produce a body of work through which to ref lect upon the subject of human existence in general and the limits of his own existence in particular. Ex- hibition launch will take place on April 4 from 20:00. Malderen presents a series of ob- jects that due to denominations of scale, materiality and context sit somewhere between sculp- tural objects and architectural models - at a juncture between the field of architecture and that of art. While many of the ref lec- tions that have made their way in the exhibition can be traced back to architecture, they feel equally relevant and stimulating when brought into an art con- text.
