It narrates the ethics projected onto sentimental spaces and memories based on these values and meanings. MAY 25-26 Fejn Sparixxiet Strada Stretta The Strada Stretta Concept, under the auspices of the Val- letta 2018 Foundation presents 'Fejn Sparixxiet Strada Stretta' Magic Festival at Strada Stretta, under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci. The event will consist of stand- up performances, roaming close-up performers, and a taste of magic in Strait Street. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE MAY 31 – JUNE 3 Earth Garden Earth Garden is a non-main- stream music festival in the stunning Ta' Qali National Park on the island of Malta, bringing together a line-up that spans across world, ska, dub, reggae and electronic music. Nestled within the enchanted wood- land of the national park, Earth Garden is all about community, great music, green awareness, healing, creativity and inspira- tion. Blond:ish is a Canadian producer/DJ duo formed by Anstascia D'Elene Corniere and Vivie-ann Ba- kos. They started their career when they met in Montreal in 2008. FILM SCREENING MAY 22 Two Trumpets for St Andrew/ Luqa Screening presented by Solar Cinema Malta of the docu- mentary Two Trumpets For St. Andrew (1968) at Iz-Zuntier tad-Dokkiena, Luqa at 20:30. Two Trumpets For St Andrew is an Australian documentary film that follows the rivalry between two band clubs in the village of Luqa in 1968. John Calleja and Anthony Theuma are the two main protagonists. We are introduced to their way of life and to their passion for their respective band clubs. Both men take us to their place of work - The military air base and the Malta dry Docks. Shot while the British occupation was ending and Malta's inde- pendence was at its inception, this film offers a rare view of how Maltese village life was at the time. The film also fea- tures interviews with Arch- bishop Gonzi, Gorg Borg Ol- ivier and Dom Mintoff. The screening is free. TODAY Gozo Alive Gozo Alive is a three-day cultural spectacle which will combine creative, cultural and artistic aspects, and is a must experience for Gozo lovers. The last day of the extensive programme of events will give visitors to the island a taster of Gozo's incredibly active year-round cultural life, kids and adults alike. The Crucible Teatru Manoel presents a new production of American playwright Arthur Miller's classic play which is regarded as a central work in the canon of American drama. This is a dramatised and partially fictionalised story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692/93. The show is strictly 16+. Tickets range between €10 and €25. Apocalesque! Fringe theatre and variety show with an 'apocalyptic burlesque' theme at City Lights, St John's Street, Valletta at 20:00. It's post apocalyptic Malta. The enormous weight of the construction boom has caused the island to collapse. The only ones that remain are the filthy dregs of society. Culture, however, is booming with sinister priests, voodoo goddesses, feline slaves and flesh eating virgins luring victims into their beautifully twisted cabaret. Bonsai Exhibition During the Annual Malta Horticulture Society Spring Flower show, Bonsai Culture Group Malta will be holding a small display of Bonsai trees at San Anton Gardens in Attard. Members will be present to assist with any information people may need on the care and development of Bonsai. The event starts at 8am and entrance is free. Heritage Malta Open Day In conjunction with Public Service Week, most of Heritage Malta's museums and sites in Malta will open on free admission on Sunday 20th May. Most museums and sites will be open all day. Sceening of Short films The Faculty of Arts of the University of Malta is proud to announce the premiere screening of "Boy Wonder", and "Vitor" two short films made by the students of the M.A. in Film Studies. The films will be screened for the first time in Malta on Sunday 20th May, 2018 at the Auditorium, Old University Building, St Paul's Street, Valletta at 17:30 hrs. Entrance is free. Reservation is not mandatory but seating is limited. Malta Artisan Spring Market Malta Artisan Markets presented a spring market, which will be held at Fort St Elmo over the weekend of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May, between 11am and 6pm. The market will feature local independent sellers, artisans and crafters, food stalls. The market will also be dog friendly, and is sponsored by Coffee Circus and Heritage Malta. Entrance is free. Irkottafest 2018 Event celebrating Irkotta, taking place at Hal Kirkop main square from 09:30 to 20:00. Hal Kirkop is extensively noted for the tradition of Irkotta making. During this event there will be a live demonstration of how Irkotta is made and other things such as artisans exhibiting lace- making, weaving, traditional food preservation and hand-made work. An art exhibition will also be held along with various entertainment throughout the day.
