The movie premiers in cinemas around Malta this week. iZombie Following a medical student who becomes a zombie, the comic series will be featured on LA5 from Monday to Friday. The series will be showing everyday at 2:10pm on the Italian programme. Inspired by the comic book, the series has had quite a following since it started in 2015. A mini-series, Patrick Melrose, is about a man from a very privileged yet traumatic childhood in the 1980s. Patrick's childhood leads him down a path into addiction and sever substance abuse in New York. Reviews are raving about the series, based on a series of novels by Edward St Aubyn, and about Benedict's Cumberbatch's surreal portrayal of trauma and addiction. 13 REASONS WHY SEASON 2 The hit Netfl ix show is back. The fi rst season, based on the acclaimed teen novel with the same name, focused on the death of teenager, Hannah, and the tapes she left behind, giv- ing thirteen reasons for her death. The show features suicide, rape, self-hard, bullying and other serious issues. the second season continues to explore big issues sensitively, but work- ing with what happens after the original novel ends, will it live up to viewers' expectations? BARK BARK DISCO Maltese band, Bark Bark Disco released the video for their new song 'Big Love' last week, from their 2018 album 'Holy Smokes'. The song can be found on Spotify, but the video, which can be found on Youtube, brings the song's meaning to another level. Bark Bark Disco are part of Malta's So Lo-Fi music move- ment and will be performing in this year's Earth Garden Festival. CHILDISH GAMBINO Childish Gambino, A.K.A Donald Glover is making waves all through the industry as a comedian, singer, actor, director, producer. His latest song, 'This is America', has skyrock- eted, and has been called a masterpiece. If you're going to listen to the song, make sure you watch the video on YouTube, which offers an insight into racism, gun problems, and life in America. JAMES BAY electric light Our favourite 'bae' is back with his second album, 'Electric Light', featuring songs like 'Pink Lemonade' and 'Us'. It's been four years since the British singer-songwriter and gui- tarist entered the music scene, and he also fi lmed a music video here in Malta. The new album can be found on Spotify and Youtube. CASTILLO – Claire Azzopardi Claire Azzopardi has released her latest adult fiction novel, 'Castillo'. The book is about a woman, Emma, who killed two men associ- ated with Muammar Gaddafi. Emma never felt sorry for her crimes, that is however, until her daughter Amanda ends up on her doorstep after many years. TILQIMA BI TBISSIMA – WILLIAM GRECH This book introduces readers to the nurs- ing world, and the humour that surrounds it. The book, published through the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses , features jokes and antidotes about the health sector, which is not often seen as humorous. THE MARS ROOM- Rachel Kushner This New York Times Bestseller focuses on Romy Hall, a woman who is about to start two consecutive life sentences, plus six years, at Stanville Women's Correctional Facility. The realistic, yet humourous book, offers an insight into the deadpan absurdities of institutional liv- ing, and a glimpse into the margins of contem- porary America.
