Capturing striking and compelling instants from 12 countries, STREET explores a raw transcription of society that pervades both human in- teractions and physical spaces. Through the shocking juxta- position of images, this exhi- bition is a thought-provoking journey in contemporary con- cerns. JUNE 22 -24 MARA - A Celebration Of Women Through Time The newly adapted MARA is back for two nights only before taking to the National Theatre of Scotland's Exchange Fes- tival. An original, multidisci- plinary piece of theatre that celebrates the story of women through time by means of sound manipulation and elec- tro-acoustic music, performed live by The New Victorians. MARA is an audiovisual jour- ney through time, highlight- ing the fact that every story is worth telling, and that no voice should be silenced. Tickets are €12 and can be bought on htt- ps://w w w.thenew victorians- music.com/tickets UNTIL JULY 1 Dal-Bahar Madwarha The major visual arts exhibi- tion of Valletta 2018 – com- memorating the capital city's adoption of the European Capital of Culture title in 2018. Curated by Maren Richter, the exhibition will be taking place across various venues. These include the Pixkerija, the Examinations Centre and the Underground Cistern, all in Valletta. More information: http://https//valletta2018.org/ cultural-programme/dal-ba- har-madwarha/ MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT JUNE 27 – JULY 1 Isle Of MTV Music Week Crossroads@Zabbar will fea- ture some of Malta'Isle of MTV music week is just around the corner, offering good music and fun times. Stretched over a week, Isle of MTV will see musical stars performing in Malta, including Sigala, Pal- oma Faith and Jason Derulo. For more information on dates and tickets, go to Isle of MTV Facebook page or website. JULY 30 – AUGUST 30 Rock'N Malta Rock'N Malta will feature various concerts throughout August. Featuring Gogol Bor- dello and Brodu on 30 July, Julian Marley and The Upsid- ers, as well as ManaTapu on 18 August, Dark Tranquility, Evergrey, and Colourblind on 24 August, and Kaiser Chiefs and Bila on 30 August. JUNE 17 Jazz for the brain Jazz for the Brain is an im- mersive show, fusing jazz and neuroscience featuring some of the best musicians on the island. An excellent line up will include Carlo Muscat on saxophone, Diccon Cooper on double bass, Effie Azzopardi on trumpet, Joseph Camilleri on drums and Karl Galea on guitar. The evening will be presented by James Deguara. It will be held at Esplora, and entrance is at €20. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE JUNE 16 House Of Doom presents: Candlemass – Live in Malta Legendary doom metal band Candlemass will be perform- ing at Aria Complex, San Gwann. JUNE 29 Eyes to Argus + Goldstein Night of progressive and doom metal music at Rumours, Pieta. Performing bands in- clude Eyes to Argus and Gold- stein. Doors open at 21:00. En- trance is at €5. JUNE 16 Magna Zmien Landing #1 Mellieha Magna Żmien, in collabora- tion with Solar Cinema and Mellieha Local Council pre- sents The Magnificent Mem- ories Machine, a night for the collection and showcase of local memories. The event will take place at Misraħ iż- Żjara tal-Papa Ġwanni Pawlu II, Mellieħa, and will feature performances and films, in- cluding a time-machine per- formance by Armchair Voy- ager Wistin and the Banda ta' Memorji Meraviljużi. The project, sponsored by Vallet- ta 2018, is free. THEATRE JUNE 15-23 Game This World Cup, Teatru Malta has thought of an in- novative way of plunging it- self into the football frenzy as it presents to the public an innovative hybrid of two pop- ular culture forms – Football and Theatre. GAME is a raw narrative that tells the story of a beloved local football club and the family that runs it. The 6-night performance will be held on the 15, 17, 18, 21, 22 and 23 June. BOOKS JUNE 22 Gozo Summer Book Festival The National Book Coun- cil is setting up the Summer Book Festival in Gozo for the second year running. This year the festival will be held at Exhibition Hall, Ministry for Gozo in Victoria on 22 and 23 June 2018. The festival will be open from 10:00am till 1:00pm and from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm on both days. En- trance is free. FILM SCREENING JUNE 8 - 17 Valletta Film Festival The Valletta Film festival will feature various festival screenings, master classes, talks and discussions, as well as short films. Prices and in- formation can be found on https://www.vallettafilmfesti- val.com/programme/ RE-ENACTMENT UNTIL JUNE 24 In Guardia Military Parade The In Guardia parade is be- ing held at Fort St Angelo on 17 June and 24 June. Another re-enactment will be held at the same fort on Sunday 21 October. The parade will take place at the Parade Ground in the centre of Fort St Angelo. The parade takes around 50 minutes and commences at 11am. Tickets, both for the fort and the parade, are available from all Heritage Malta mu- seums and sites for €15 adults, €12 seniors and students, and €7 children. Fort St Angelo opens from 9am till 6pm, last admission at 5.30pm. Jazz for the brain will be held at Esplora this Sunday Game will be held by Teatru Malta from 15 to 23 June
