maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 20 JUNE 2018 22 THE Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi is again committed that on Saturday 23rd June 2018 it will con- tinue the National Autocross ASMK Pasta Poiatti Cham- pionship for 2017/2018. This is the eleventh event of the season and it is going to be held at the Ta' Qali Sports Complex of the Association The event starts at 8.00pm. On Sunday 24th June 2018 the Association will be crossing the Maltese channel to the Quarry Of Ghansar in San Lawrence Gozo. ASMK will be holding the last event of the National Enduro Wotomoto Championship 2017/2018. This event starts at 10.00am and is open for Gozo riders too. The Associ- ation would like to thank the owners of the quarry LTLM Louis Attard Ltd for giving permission to ASMK to hold this event in their locality. In the Enduro Wotomoto National Championship 2017/2018 the championship winner is still uncertain as after five races from six held so far, two competitors are very close to each other and the winner will be decided in this last event. Currently, James Zahra on his Sherco is leading with 94 points and is followed closely by Bernard Sammut with 87 points on a Beta. Zahra and Sammut are followed by Joseph Scicluna on a KTM with 75 points. All will be decided in this last event. Meanwhile, Saturday 16th June 2018 was the last event for Motocross champion- ship called 'Bonus Event'. This event was held as each rider was given the chance to drop one event where he did not perform well during the championship season. So this race could have changed the overall classification. Following this event we had these results. In the Motocross Class A the Honda rider Stefan Dimech won this class ti- tle while Paul Muscat on a Yamaha was the Runner- up. Third place finisher was Mark Mamo on a Yamaha motorcycle. The Motocross Class B was won by Bernard Sammut on a Beta where he continued to dominate this class ahead of the Runner-up Gary Debono on a Sherco motorcycle. Third place finisher was Joseph Sci- cluna on a KTM while fourth place was taken by the young Michael Sant, riding a Husq- varna motorcycle. In the Veterans Class Je- thro Sant won this class on the day on a Yamaha motor- cycle and was followed by Vince Agius also on a Yama- ha. Third place finisher was Andrew Cassar on a KTM motorcycle. The Association officially announced the champions and Runner-up of the Honda Motocross National Cham- pionships 2017/2018. Kyle Camilleri on KTM motor- cycle is the winner of the Honda Motocross National Championship 2017/2018. Kyle is going to put his name down for the first time as Champion in this class. Dur- ing this season Kyle was fol- lowed by his brother Clayton Camilleri on a KTM motor- cycle. The Association also hon- ours the classes which are not held on National Cham- pionships basis and also acknowledges the winners of each class. In the Moto- cross Class B the Beta rider Bernard Sammut drove to victory and won the Overall standings. Sammut was fol- lowed by Sant Michael on a Husqvarna Motorcycle. The Veterans Class wel- comes Paul Deguara who dominated the season races, ending in first place in the standings. Deguara was fol- lowed by Jethro Sant riding a Yamaha motorcycle. The season of Motocross Motorcycles will be back in action in October in another 'Honda Motocross National Championship 2018/2019'.
