MOTORING 10 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 19 AUGUST 2018 SSANGYONG'S Tivoli is turn- ing heads in all the right direc- tions. The Korean based motor company known to specialize in 4x4's has managed to muscle itself into the trendier side of the motor market. SsangYong's Tivoli has made waves with its contemporary small CUV de- sign combining luxury, style and performance at a price as comfortable as its ride. The automaker had baptized their car after the Italian town Tivoli, but it's also "i lov it" spelled backwards. That's a pretty accurate statement, be- cause you'll end up loving it at the end of the day. The Tivoli is a bold step in the right direction. Immedi- ately its slick exterior design promises both elegance and practicality. The clean front end of the car features on it LED driving lights which in- corporate a modern feel, these front features blend in per- fectly to a sculpted profile and then into a purposeful rear quarter, which is both home to a spare wheel and successfully provides its own- er with a considerable luggage space of 423 litres. The sharp angles, bulky shapes and grin- ning front fascia, make this car's exterior feel tough and planted to the ground. Needless to say, the interior room in the Tivoli is among the best in its class. Boasting an impressing where 5 adults can fit inside the car, with enough legroom and head- room to comfortably enjoy long drives. Engineers at SsangYong made sure that all necessary information is easily dis- played up front by the driver. A large touch display screen is complemented by modern and clear dials, a tire pressure monitoring system, climate control memory functions and many of the usual good stuff incorporating both form and function to the car. The seating is both firm and com- fortable, making the entire in- terior quality of the car more than a match for SsangYong's European and Japanese rivals. A big consideration to- wards safety was taken with the design. The Tivoli comes equipped with 7 airbags as well as having 40 percent of the body use advanced high- strength steel. SsangYong has stated that the Tivoli achieved the highest rating possible for AE-MDB side-impact colli- sion tests. SsangYong Tivoli turning heads
