Speaking during a question and an- swer session with MaltaToday online editor, Kurt Sansone, on the granaries in Floriana last night, Delia said that "from the information he has" there were aspects of the project that did not conform with the law and therefore a permit should not be granted. "From the information I have, primar- ily from Marthese Portelli – our rep- resentative on the board – unless the plans change drastically overnight and conform to the rules, I believe, I imag- ine, I'm almost sure she will vote against the project," Delia said. 11 3 20 PN to vote against ITS-site project MATTHEW AGIUS MALTESE Customs have uncovered what has been termed by a govern- ment statement as the largest ever drug find in Malta. According to information received by MaltaToday, over 10 tonnes of can- nabis resin was seized while in transit at the Malta Freeport on a container ship that had left Syria and was sail- ing to Libya. The Maltese government said in a statement that the container ship had been followed for days before its ar- rival in Malta and the intervention of Customs officers. Customs officers were inspecting four containers at the Malta Freeport. Three of the containers were declared to be carrying pails of crockery deter- gent, while the other container was declared to carry blow-torches. The containers, which were transit- ing through Malta on their way from Syria to Libya, were flagged as 'poten- tial high-risk containers' following risk analysis performed by the Malta Customs Container Monitoring Unit. All four containers were scanned by the ZBV backscatter scanner, and subsequently by the Nuctech X-ray scanner. In both occasions, all pails of detergent produced in- consistency in the image.
