These never seen before, mangled and distorted volumes have lain static, buried in boxes, out of sight, for decades – their reason for being, gone. Parallel Existences will be on show at Valletta Contempo- rary in Valletta between 5 Oc- tober and 2 November 2018. UNTIL 4 NOVEMBER Tactile: 12 concealed sculptures exhibition Tactile: 12 Concealed Sculp- tures is an international vis- ual art exhibition within a space devoid of light. Bringing together the works of Maltese, Japanese, Italian and French sculptors, Tactile will see au- diences engage with the works primarily through the sense of touch. The visually impenetrable setting will invite the general public to interact with the exhibits through what will remain a purely tactile expe- rience. By having these sculp- tures concealed from the na- ked eye, the project aims to reverse any preconceived no- tions of the 'normal' process of perceiving visual art ex- clusively through sight. The exhibition will take place at the Valletta University Cam- pus. NOVEMBER 8 – 29 Saudade - Paintings by Gabriel Buttigieg In his new body of work Ga- briel explores with beauty the strained nature of experience. Establishing identity through memory, nothing remains unmoved. Gabriel's paintings array how cultural memory is a reconstructive affair where through colour, tone, and emotion, specific events are constantly recollected or re- valued. 'Saudade' opens on the 8th November 2018 at Palazzo de la Salle, Republic Street, Valletta, and runs until the 29th November 2018. THEATRE NOVEMBER 2 – 4 Voyager by ZfinMalta ŻfinMalta National Dance Company present a full- length brand new creation choreographed by Artistic Di- rector Paolo Mangiola in col- laboration with visual artist Austin Camilleri. The dance work is inspired by The Gold- en Record, a gold-plated time capsule launched on the 1977 Voyager Spacecraft to com- municate the human story to extraterrestrials. The piece questions how our past, pre- sent, and future hopes might be represented now. The show will be performed at Teatru Manoel with tickets ranging from €10-20. NOVEMBER 9 – 11 Festa tal-Qaddisin... Hadd ma' jista ghalina A social spectacle about Mal- ta's village feasts, using band and march music, the play looks at the difference between what the feasts mean, and what the Maltese have turned them into. A saint who comes back to earth is shocked at Malta's festivities and people's men- talities. The play will be per- formed at the Teatru Manoel between the 9th and 11th of November, with tickets rang- ing between €10-20.
