6 TODAY Lord of The Flies Teatru Manoel Youth Theatre is proud to present Lord of the Flies by Nobel Prize winner Wil- liam Golding. The classic novel, a potent allegory about the loss of innocence and the decline of civilisation, is brought to dra- matic life in Nigel Williams' adaptation. A plane crashes on a deserted island. The only survi- vors are a group of young adults. By day, it's a tropical paradise of sun and sea; but each night, their dreams are inhabited by a terrifying beast. Recommended age group: 8+ Alla Mnezza The story-line is known by al- most everyone. A seemingly vir- tuous man became very popular in his time as some recounted that he performed miracles. He was deemed subversive and dangerous by the political/reli- gious elite and was condemned to death. He is reported to have said that he would conquer death. His words and deeds still resonate today. But DWAL ĠODDA theatre group tack- les the plot of this story from different perspectives in their yearly two-act production in combination with the tradi- tional Good Friday procession at Gharghur, which is held on Palm Sunday – this year, 14th April. DWAL ĠODDA will give two performances of " Alla Mneżża' " at Spazju Teatrali on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th at 7.30pm. Entrance is free. On 14th April, Palm Sunday, a 'park and ride' shuttle system will be operating with the col- laboration of the Gharghur Lo- cal Council, from near the old Trade Fair grounds in Naxxar, to Gharghur and back, between 4.30pm and 10.30pm. Open Day at St Elmo An Open Day organised by Heritage Malta today, will of- fer the public free access and guided tours to Fort St Elmo and the National War Museum, re-enactments, activities for children, talks, and war-themed snacks. Originally intended as a war machine, today Fort St Elmo serves as an impressive historical military building with unobstructed panoramic views of the Grand Harbour and the surrounding towns and villages. The fort also hosts the National War Museum which houses a superb collection of artefacts that go back to prehis- toric times.
