18 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 14 APRIL 2019 COMMERCIAL FARSONS Group directors and management, together with their partners, were re- cently hosted by Louis A. Farrugia, Chairman of the Farsons Group, and his wife Monica Farrugia to an evening at Muża, Malta's new National Museum of Art in Valletta. Guests had the unique op- portunity to participate in guided tours throughout the evening, followed by a recep- tion in the atrium area. "We are proud to have had the opportunity to offer this unique evening to our direc- tors and management team. It was the first visit to Muża for some of our guests and all commented positively on this experience," said Antoinette Caruana, Group Human Re- sources Manager and Com- pany Secretary. Muża represents a significant development in the history of museums in Malta as a new museum typology in line with the latest developments inter- nationally. It seeks to promote great community participation through a story-based narra- tive of display and related ob- jects and empower a broader range of access tools to experi- ence heritage and culture. An evening at Muza AUTO Sales Co. started life when Edward Vincenti Kind began importing an impres- sive number of products that included cosmetics, ladies' shoes, household goods, radios and passenger cars. It operated from Republic Street in Val- letta and imported and sold worldwide known brands like GEC, Max Factor, Buick and Chevrolet, both American car brands and the British Austin. After the end of the second world war, Kind made business contact with Daimler-Benz in West Germany and Renault in France. Meanwhile, in 1953 his son the late Richard Vincenti Kind, who had been trained in the various firms represented by his father, bought all the shares and took over the run- ning of Auto Sales Co. The rest, as they say, is history. To celebrate, Auto Sales Ltd., which forms part of the Ren- mer Group, has prepared a number of activities to be held throughout the year. During this year the company will be reserving a part of the sale proceeds of each vehicle sold in a special fund. It plans to use the monies gathered to make a donation to an NGO every quarter. The NGOs have been chosen in such a way as to cover three different sec- tors, namely those who help people with medical or special needs, those that aim to pro- mote Maltese promising musi- cal talent and those that work for the preservation of Maltese heritage. In respect of the latter two NGOs, Auto Sales Ltd has paid for the restoration of a rare and valuable book at the National Library in the first quarter and has made a donation to the BOV Joseph Calleja Founda- tion. During this anniversary year, all customers who register a vehicle of any of the company's brands will be receiving a small special gift as a token of the company's appreciation. As part of the 90th anniver- sary celebrations, a treasure hunt for the company's em- ployees has been organised for the coming May. This compe- tition will be run by a group of independent judges and each member of the winning team will receive a prize. Also, as part of the anniver- sary celebrations a staff com- petition will be held in June and December of this year. The employee with the best initiative and performance will be nominated by all the other company employees and will be suitably rewarded. The main celebration of Kind's 90th anniversary took place on the 10th April 2019. Several persons from the company's principals Daimler AG and Renault SA attended, namely Vincent Tourette - Managing Director from Re- nault, Briony Hill – Renault Markets Coordinator, and Im- porters, Robertino Renz – Re- gional Marketing & Sales Man- ager for FUSO Europe, and Kai Hoffman – Daimler Overseas Region Manager. The reception marking the anniversary, held at Kind's Auto Sales Ltd Mercedes Benz and Renault showrooms in Lija was well attended by both es- teemed clients and all compa- ny staff members. Throughout the evening attendees enjoyed musical performances by Red Electrick and Renault brand ambassador Ivan Grech. The directors would like to take this opportunity to pub- licly thank the company's em- ployees, past and present, for their service and dedication. A special thanks also goes to its numerous customers, its prin- cipals and business partners who over the years have con- tinually expressed their confi- dence in the company's prod- ucts and services, with their unwavering loyalty and trust.
