The near-disasters-turned- triumphs in 'Secret Space Escapes' are expressed solely from the point of view of the men and women who problem- solved each event. There is no narration in the series and the stories unfold exclusively in the words of the people who were there. Chilling accounts of the challenges of space exploration feature launches, space walks, landings, collisions, outages, and other dangerous situations. MONDAY Alone in the Dark (2005) [Film] 9.40pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) When the investigations of supernatural detective Edward Carnby (Christian Slater) lead him to uncover a long-lost tribe called 'The Abskani', he finds out that they worshipped demons. These evil creatures are now attempting to resurface in the world, and Edward can stop them only with the help of Aline Cedrac (Tara Reid), an archaeologist who also happens to be his old flame. With sinister forces attempting to take over Edward's mind, can he and Aline stop them before it's too late? TUESDAY Ancient Aliens: "The Badlands Guardian" [Documentary] 11pm on History (Channel 412) Investigators circle the globe in search of evidence in their quest to determine whether life on Earth began in outer space and if aliens influenced mankind in ancient times. Did extra-terrestrial beings visit Earth and share information about technology and influence human religions? And more importantly, if aliens visited the planet before, will they return? In this episode, satellite images have revealed a giant face that appears to be carved into the Earth in Alberta, Canada, which has now become known far and wide as "The Badlands Guardian." WEDNESDAY 50 First Dates (2004) [Comedy Film] 9pm on Melita More (Channel 315) Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) lives in a Hawaiian paradise with the company of endless women with no strings attached. This is until he meets Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore). Both Henry and Lucy enjoy the company of each other and feel the start of a serious relationship occurring. Approaching Lucy the next day, Henry is confused when Lucy fails to recognise him. This is the moment Henry discovers that Lucy actually suffers from short- term memory loss and can't remember each individual day. Henry won't let this stop him and is prepared to make her fall in love with him all over again, each and every day. THURSDAY Food Court Wars [Culinary Game Show] 8.40pm on Food Network (Channel 353) Many mall food courts are similar, filled with choices that include fast food chains, pizza joints and restaurants that serve Asian food. Each episode features two teams that have 48 hours to come up with a fresh concept for a food court restaurant, test the concept, find source ingredients, and create a marketing campaign before putting the concept to the test in a one-day competition at a mall food court. The team that outsells the other during the contest earns the grand prize: the chance to open a restaurant – rent-free for a year – in the food court. FRIDAY Keaton's Cop (1990) [Film] 9.45pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) In Miami, police officers Mike Gable (Lee Majors) and Jake Barber (Don Rickles) investigate a string of murders targeting senior citizens. When the two arrive at a retirement home to look into the most recent slaying, they find former gangster Louie Keaton (Abe Vigoda), who was clearly the intended victim. When Jake gets caught in the crossfire of a pair of hit men, it's up to Mike to get to the bottom of the crimes, protect Keaton and avenge his partner. SATURDAY It's My Party (1996) [Film] 10.20pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) Nick (Eric Rober ts), a gay, HIV-positive architect, begins to display severe symptoms of AIDS and makes preparations to kill himself before he is unable to function normally. He arranges a par t y to reconnect and say goodbye to his closest friends and his confused parents. But when his ex-par tner, Brandon (Gregor y Harrison), a television director who lef t Nick when he was diagnosed with HIV, shows up, what was supposed to be a celebrator y event becomes much more dif ficult for ever yone.
