OCTOBER 6 L-Imqabba: Biss bil-hila First edition of a festival of arts, The Shh will be performing at Coach and Horses on October 4 crafts, food and entertainment across the streets of Mqabba, starting at 09:00. The event will include various activities such as vintage cars exhibitions, games for children, music, dancing, and trains. A special attraction will be the traditional "Kukkanja" (greasy pole), that will be set up in the middle of the square. More information: www.talgilju.com. OCTOBER 11 Birgufest Annual festival across the streets of Birgu – incorporating historic re-enactments, extended and cheaper museum entrances, and the opening up to the public of other venues of interest including The Mediterranean's underwater forests Lecture by Dr Joseph A. Borg at Din L-Art Helwa, 133, Melita Street, Valletta at 18:30. Dr Borg will present the main characteristics of Posidonia oceanica meadows, and their roles as habitat and as a very important component of the Mediterranean marine ecosystem.
