Events 45 maltatoday, Sunday, 23 november 2014 Following last year's successful Movember campaign, Cisk is once again joining in this growing glo- bal awareness campaign and ex- tending its support further this year by offering educational tours sharing medical advice and of- fering subsidised medical tests to generate awareness and encourage important health checks. Movember is an international campaign originating in Austral- ia, where men grow moustaches throughout the month of Novem- ber to raise awareness about men's health, namely testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental illness. The moustaches are intended to spark conversations about the im- portance of keeping healthy, spot- ting changes and being courageous enough to speak up when some- thing is wrong. Participants can also raise funds for cancer chari- ties but the main priority is to get people talking about this sensitive topic in a more lighthearted way than usual. As part of this year's campaign, Cisk have procured the services of a specialist doctor who is visiting various locations in a specially branded Cisk Movember van. Dur- ing these educational tours the doctor is delivering a presentation to men and their families about testicular cancer, focusing on ex- plaining what the disease is, how men can check themselves, what to do in case of suspicion, and what the treatment is in case of a diag- nosis. All participants are also being given an educational leaflet togeth- er with a voucher entitling them to a medical test at St James Hospital at a special reduced price. The educational tours started at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc and are continuing throughout the month of November with STMicroelec- tronics, Vodafone Malta, and Bet- fair amongst others. Please visit www.movember.com for more information about Movem- ber. The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd. (GSD) has recently passed surveil- lance audits in ISO 22000, ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000. GSD was one the first Coca-Cola plants in Europe and one of the first manufacturing plants in Malta to obtain the ISO 22000 certification back in 2010. The recent recertification caps 10 years of achieving unconditioned passes since the Company decided to implement and adopt ISO Qual- ity Standards. "When you pick up one of our drinks, you know you're handling the product of a highly controlled quality management system," said Chief Operating Officer Maria Micallef. "Our certification audits are carried out to international ISO standards by Lloyd's Register auditors. These Standards en- sure our products and the services we provide are safe, reliable and of good quality." GSD is also certified to ISO 14000, an Environmental Management Standard that ensures continuous environmental manage- ment to minimise the impact of the company's operations on the envi- ronment and assures compliance with all the applicable environmental laws and regulations. The Health & Safety of its employ- ees is very important to GSD and in this respect the company is also certified to OHSAS 18001, which promotes a safe and healthy working environment. This standard provides a framework that helps to: identify and control health and safety risks; reduce the potential for accidents; aid in legal compliance; and improve overall performance. Over and above the regular ISO audits, companies within The Coca- Cola Company (TCCC) system have recently become subject to surprise audits that verify the Quality, Envi- ronment and Health & Safety proc- esses of the manufacturing plant. GSD has twice been assessed under TCCC's unannounced audit pro- gram, passing these with excellent results. "We believe that the company's success de- pends on supplying high quality products, packages and services that meet and surpass our customers' and consumers' expecta- tions," Micallef said. "Our company's quality, environment and health and safety management systems have become an integral part of the way we operate and do business." For all women who like to sur- prise and be surprised, the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio creates an exceptional and singu- larly expressive gloss. As with all Rouge Allure products, it boasts a high concentration of finely ground pigments that gives its shades exceptional radiance, in- tensity and purity. A real beauty signature. Intense shine The combination of a film- forming polymer and glass mi- crobeads, which acts like a mag- nifying glass, creates a mirror effect and optimizes shine with a lacquered effect. The extreme light reflection enhances the lips, which appear smoother and plumper, while intensifying the radiance of colour. Surprising hold Two polymers, one for colour hold and the other to maintain shine, join forces in a second- skin texture that offers intense yet lightweight coverage. Colour is unleashed from the very first stroke on the lips and intensifies to your heart's desire for radiant makeup, hour after hour. A gloss that cares for your lips All of the products in the Rouge Allure range offer exceptional comfort with the help of a unique blend of active ingredients: Sap- pan wood, matcha green tea but- ter and a Vitamin E derivative.
