The Kobras batted first and posted their highest score of the tournament. Malcolm Crabbe (26 runs) and John Grima (30 runs retired) had the Kobras off to a great start until a misunderstanding had Crabbe run out. They had put on a 58 run partnership. Nowell Khosla (who this past week became Malta's first playing member of the MARYLEBONE CRICK- ET CLUB, well done Nowell) only had a brief stay at the crease making six runs. Adam Krishna did not bother the scorer. Bikram Arora (18 runs) was go- ing at a run a ball when he played inside the line to a great delivery from Zubair Raja who had his off stump knocked over. Mike Caruana made 35 runs from 26 balls which in- cluded three boundaries. Ravi Sharma, Kevin Krishna and Amy Caruana made six runs between them. With 29 extras the Kobras totalled a fine 157 runs. For the Magpies Andy Naudi took two wickets and Feroz Ahmed Akbar took a wicket. The Kobras were up for the challenge of defending the runs, that is until the third over when the openers Andrew Naudi (41 runs) and Haroon Majeed (48 runs retired) had 40 runs of the first three overs. There was a little ray of hope when the Kobras took two quick wickets, that was also short lived with Sam Aquilina coming in and blasting 30 runs from 19 balls including four boundaries and a six, taking the Mag- pies to victory. For the Kobras Mike Caruana took two wickets while Nowell Khosla and Kevin Krishna took a wicket each. The Marsa team earned 15 points for the win while the Kobras earned two. Next Saturday the Kobras take on Melita Bees and need to win to have any chance of taking the title. The Sunoco Cricket academy/nursery will be from 9 till 10:30am. Andy Naudi (R) in action
