Setting the standard for comfort in its segment, it is cementing its status as a compact hatchback delivering a superb ride and driving experience. Its elegant design, all-round comfort, and outstanding driveabilit y are proof of Citroën capacit y to use creativit y and technology to provide an overall sense of well- being. The New Citroën C4 Range features: - a new light signature that makes the front end more expres- sive with LED running lights and adds a more dynamic touch to the rear end with 3D-effect tail lights. It also gains new upholstery ma- terials and a simpler dashboard featuring a new centrally located 7" touchscreen tablet; - comfort is as exceptional as ever owing to a performance that filters out the road with no trade-off in driving pleasure. Onboard comfort is increased with standard-setting acoustic features, comfortable seats, mas- saging front seat, and a pano- ramic glass roof equipped with an electric blind. Find Citroen on Facebook at Facebook.com/CitroenMalta A ray of sunshine on a rainy day cHriS MANGioN An otherwise overcast and rainy day was brightened up by the spotlessly clean white 2015 Yaris. Whilst definitely not the best day for a test drive, the revamped Yaris left a sharp impression as the drive went on. The 2015 Yaris adopts a sharper image than its predecessors. While the overarching design has been preserved, the proportions of the f lowing, slightly aggressive bodylines have turned this model into a more visually pleasing design, a st yle deriving from the Toyota Aygo exhibited in last year's Geneva Motor Show. The Yaris is Toyota's lowest- priced model from the brand, however the guys at Toyota's R&D have blessed this model with new hood sculpting, while a black mesh design fills the large trapezoid grille. A line of chrome leads the eye around the large Toyota emblem up front. Amber turn signals have been added to the rear lights, and the Yaris SE models get LED front running lamps and black and silver 16- inch wheels. An unusual feature on this model is the single-wiper system. One large articulated arm spans the entire windscreen. Unusual but effective as it kept up with the downpour and we had unrestrict- ed visuals through- out the very wet test drive. The interior has definitely been upgraded from previous models. Soft-touch materi- als are found on the dashboard and the door cards, and all models feature a new console with a built in 6.1-inch touch screen, radio, a USB port, an auxiliary input, and Bluetooth audio stream- ing and hands-free calling. The Toyota's Entune infotainment sys- tem controls are simple and easy to understand and use. The sports model we tested had leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and contrast stitch- ing. The cabin features horizontal mini shelves and enough storage space for both the driver and the passenger, including a long tray for the passenger, cup holders, and bins. This year's model brings im- provements in the suspension department too. Softer springs and a stiffer torsion beam in back, coupled with stiffer shocks, altogether make the vehicle's ride feel safe and comfortable. The car retains its MacPherson front struts and a torsion-beam rear setup. The electric power steer- ing loads up smoothly and tracks well, adding to the control factor. Whether you choose the three- door or the five-door hatchback, the size of the 2015 Yaris makes the vehicle easily maneuverable and quick to park in Malta's tight cit y streets. In the safet y department, the 2015 Yaris features electronic stabilit y control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distri- bution and Brake Assist on all models. There are nine airbags, including a driver knee bag, and some models include an engine immobilizer. The Yaris feels light and agile on the road. The 1.33ltr Dual V VT-i engine, with a six speed manual gearbox, claims to do over 55.5 mpg, with a modest 11.7seconds taken to accelerate from 0-62km/h. The 2015 Yaris is a breath of fresh air over the previous Yaris models. Both the interior and ex- terior are more modern, brighter and more pleasing to the owner. The 2015 model is presented in either three- or five-door versions with a choice of five-speed or six-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmissions. The new model is available at Michael Debono Ltd in four configura- tions. The 'Active', 'Icon', 'Sport' and 'Excel ' versions, starting from 13,295 Euro.
