This event consisted in racing Moto- cross and Autocross cars where 46 competitors registered for this event. During the day the Motocross started racing at 4:30pm. Third place was won by Kyle Camilleri riding a KTM while in Edward Ciantar finished in fifth place on his 250cc Kawasaki. In Class B Ludvic Muscat con- tinued to win this class on a KTM. Gozo rider Adam Sultana on his Kawasaki battled well to Mus- cat yet he placed a decent second place. In third place was won by young Mark Mamo on his 85cc Yamaha while Nikovich Chircop on his KTM finished in 4th place. New drivers who also participated in this class were brothers Mat- thew and Jack Bailey. Both ride small capacity KTM motorcycles. The Motocross Open Class was won by Clayton Camilleri on his KTM followed by Trevor Muscat on his Honda whilst third place was won by Edward Ciantar on his Kawasaki. The Autocross car races started around 8:00 pm where three class- es were present. The Autocross Modified, the Standard and the Gozo Autocross class. The event began with the Modified Auto- cross class where 26 cars started the day's racing Heats. Ryan Scerri on his Opel Corsa managed to win the all the 3 heats of the day and secured his place in the final. Be- cause Scerri did not compete in enough events during this season he was transfered to Class B under the Autocross rules. The qualifiers for Class A were Vince Farrugia on a Volkswagen Fox, Christian Mark Galea on a Fiat Ritmo, Gordon Johnson on his Peugeot 205, Lucas Pace on a Honda Civic, Philip Joe Vella on an Opel Corsa and Josef Abela on a Vauxhall Nova. For competitors for Class B Fi- nals were Ryan Scerri on Opel Corsa, Matthew Borg on Vauxhall Nova, Christian Apap on a Ford Fiesta, Godwin Martin, Jonathan Camilleri and Malcolm Borg all on Opel Corsa cars. From the Start of this final we saw Martin and Camilleri making a good launch and drove a long dis- tance abreast while Borg brothers followed close by. Just before the first corner Camilleri and Martin remained next to each other but as they reached the first corner Martin lost the lead to Camilleri followed by Borg brothers. Soon after this for some reason the As- sistant Referee ordered to stop the race and so happened. On the ad- vice of the Referees a part of the track was analysed because of a rut that grew in this particular corner. The ASMK Officers de- cided that the Race Finals be post- poned and these are expected to be run on another day which will be announced soon. Meanwhile before the Final B was started, the Standard Auto- cross final was run. The qualify- ing drivers were Saviour Micallef on Volkswagen Polo, Traydon Bailey on Ford Ka, Deane Farru- gia on Citroen AX, John Agius on a Peugeot 206 and Johann Vella on an Opel Corsa. The Start was good and Micallef was seen tak- ing the helm followed by Bailey and Farrugia. By the end of the first lap Bailey was having pres- sure from Farrugia who suc- cedded in beating Bailey on the fourth lap. During the race Vella made an unsporty deed on Bailey who was suspended by the referee of the day. The final result ended up with Micallef winning the race followed by Farrugia, Agius and Bailey who finished in fourth place in his first race. In the Gozo Autocoss race Cecil Cefai on Ford Escort won the final who was followed by Joseph Agius on Ford Fiesta.
