Government now looking for 25,000 square
metre plot for American University

BIDDING to assuage the hostile
public opinion, the government
has instructed its property divi-
sion to identify a 25,000 square
metre plot to complement a
downscaled ODZ campus in Mar-
saskala.
Government sources confirmed
that the property division has
been ordered to identify a number
of sites which will be proposed for
the Malta Environment and Plan-
ning Authority's consideration.
This will enable the government
to split the proposed university
campus in two, reducing the site
earmarked for development in
Zonqor Point in Marsaskala from
90,000 square metres to 65,000
square metres by transferring
parts of the proposed campus to
a smaller site which is yet to be
identified.
