UNTIL AUGUST 15 Obsidio Melitae Exhibition of historical documents pertaining to the Great Siege of Malta at the National Library, Valletta. The main focus of the display will be the original prints by Matteo Perez d'Aleccio depicting the highlights of the siege. Other interesting documents include original letters of congratulation from European sovereigns sent to Grand Master Jean de Valette after the lifting of the siege. On view are also published contemporary accounts of the siege, including the 1567 and 1568 editions of Francesco Balbi da Correggio's day-to-day diary. Modern scholarly studies of the 1565 event will also feature in the display. Opening hours are Monday to Friday between 08:15 and 17:00 and on Saturdays between 08:15 and 13:00; and between June 16 and August 16 from Monday to Saturday between 08:00 and 13:00. Admission is free. Presentation of ID card / passport is required. THEATRE AND MUSIC JUNE 1 Malta International Music Festival: Contemporary Master Pieces Concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta at 19:30. Featuring Julian Milkis on clarinet, Boris Andrianov on cello, and Polina Osetinskaya on piano. They will play Soledad and the Four Seasons of Buenos Aires – four tango compositions by Astor Piazzolla, Nino Rota's Trio for clarinet, cello and piano, and Ilya Dimov's Tango Forever. In addition Julian, Boris and Polina will perform four compositions of Alexey Shor, who will be present at the concerts. Alexey Shor serves as the Composer-in-Residence for the renowned Salomé Chamber Orchestra and for the Salomé Music Festival at the Hamptons. Entrance is free of charge. GREEN FESTIVAL JUNE 5-7 Earth Garden 2015 Annual festival of music, food, arts and crafts at Ta' Qali National Park. The three-day ticket for the Open Village are available online from May 2 at €8. Concert tickets for the Greek Theatre are €15 for each concert on Friday and Saturday – concert ticket prices will increase at the door. The organisers remind the general public that Greek Theatre Ticket holders will be allowed access to all the three days, while children under 12 accompanied by an adult will be allowed to enter the festival for free.
