The first part, titled Purgatorio, is a revisitation of Act II of Naupaca Dance Factory's DIVI- NA, a contemporary dance adapta- tion of Dante Alighieri's epic poem La Divina Commedia, directed by Joeline Tabone. The second part, titled Non Solo Carmen: Donne Vit- time dell' Amore, explores themes of love, violence and womanhood. Pompea Santoro curates and directs a performance that presents three emblematic female figures, namely Carmen, Giselle and Juliet. Tick- ets are at €15. OCTOBER 9, 10 Strummin' – What a Feelin' In its 14th edition, Strummin', Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Nsara's biggest project, features a night filled with sounds from a band, accompanied by a guitar ensemble of around 60 guitarists. OCTOBER 16-18; 23-25 One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Masquerade Theatre Company production of Ken Kesey's classic at Manoel Theatre, Valletta at 20:00. Adapted by Dale Wasserman, the production is directed by Stephen Oliver. Cast includes: Alan Paris, Alexandra Camilleri Warne, Victor DeBono, Joe Depasquale, Andre Ag- WHAT'S ON TODAY In Guardia Parade Military re-enactment at Fort St Elmo, Valletta at 11:00. The re-enactment por- trays the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs. During the re-enactment, of the fort's garrison - some 55 re-enac- tors in all - are kitted-out in their uniforms to perform their military drill to demon- strate to the Grand Bailiff its state of readiness. Entrance is at €7 for adults and €3 for children. The Culture of Ageing Collective Exhibition Curated by Lennard Dost and Mare van Koningsveld, this collective exhibition ad- dresses the concept of ageing through the questioning of the role of seniors within so- cieties while also exploring how do these societies react to an ageing population. The exhibit approaches ageing from a Maltese perspective while also relating this per- spective with other cultures. Artists taking part in this exhibition include: Adrian Abela, Michael Apted, Femke Bakker, Kristina Borg, Vince Briffa, Gilbert Calleja, Aza- hara Cerezo, Libia Castro and Ólafur Ólafsson, Louise Hervé and Chloé Maillet, Bettina Hutschek, Trevin Matcek and Ferhat Özgür. Taking place at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Something Very Close to Nothing At All One-day pop-up exhibition by Aidan Celeste and Stefan Nestoroski at 124, Pretty Bay, Birzebbugia (first house next to the waterpolo pitch) from 12:00 to 18:00. Organised by Fragmenta Malta. 'Visitors are invited to roam around the eye of the house through each window, each door, and other crevices. The interven- tion, 'Sometimes Very Close to Nothing at All', is an in- termediate stage, a passage of adaptation, towards the imminent demolition of the building. No sooner than to- morrow, the two views, one opposite from the other will collapse -the street will meet the sea.'
