NOVEMBER 25 MPO CHOGM Concert Classical music concert organised ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta at 19:30. Conducted by Brian Schembri, the programme includes works by Peter Sculthorpe (Earth Cry), Larysa Kuzmenko (Behold the night) and Charles Camilleri (New Idea Symphony). Entrance is free. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL NOVEMBER 21 Convergence Collective exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute, Valletta. Featuring the works of some of Malta's finest artists, offering a generous variety of styles from classic to abstract, namely: Debbie Caruana Dingli, Tonio Mallia, Anna Grima, John Martin Borg, Madeleine Gera, Winston Hassall, Mary de Piro, Andrew Borg, Anthony Weitz, Caroline Navarro, Henry Alamango, Henry Falzon and Stephanie Borg. UNTIL NOVEMBER 23 Celebrating the life and works of Antoine Camilleri (1922- 2005) Exhibition of works by the celebrated post-war artist Antoine Camilleri at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Through a diverse selection of drawings, prints, designs, paintings, artistic tools and video, the exhibition traces Camilleri's growth as an artist and as a person – a life- time of continuous rediscovery – from the primordial years of his education at the Malta School of Art, to his studies in Europe, to his personal relationships with his family, nature and religion. UNTIL NOVEMBER 30 Views of Valletta Exhibition of paintings by Nick Inguanez at Casa Ellul, Old Theatre Street, Valletta. The exhibition revolves around the central themes of urban spaces, street life as well as the people who make up the city, depicted from different viewpoints in a fresh combo of colour and composition. UNTIL NOVEMBER 30 Light of the World – Sacred Art Exhibition Exhibition of paintings by Gozitan artist Aaron Formosa at the 'Banca Giuratale', Independence Square, Victoria Gozo. Through the exhibition, the artist aims to showcase a new interpretation of Biblical episodes and other religious narratives; an interpretation which is different from the ones we are commonly used to and which are found in local churches and in other places of worship. UNTIL JANUARY 7 Mdina Biennale – 'Christianity, Spirituality and the Other' The Mdina Cathedral Contemporary Art Biennale will establish a spiritual space celebrating creativity. The theme for 2015 is 'Christianity, Spirituality and the Other', 'The Other' standing for faith and non-faith, belief and non-belief, theist and atheist, agnostic and polytheist. The Mdina Biennale traces its roots back to the previous Christian and Sacred Art Biennale of the 1990s, and the forthcoming 2015 event will radically widen its creative spectrum. UNTIL JANUARY 10 Watches Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti is continuing with its series of temporary exhibitions with an exhibition dedicated to antique watches. Over 50 watches specially loaned from private and museum collections, highlight the technological and artistic qualities of antique watches. This exhibition is guest-curated by David Thompson, who occupied the role of senior curator of Horology at the British Museum until his recent retirement. The exhibition considers their variations and functions, and takes an in-depth look at particularly important watches belonging to notable personalities. NOVEMBER 24, 25 Albert Einstein: Relatively Speaking Theatrical performance exploring Albert Einstein's life and work at Esplora, Villa Bighi, Kalkara at 20:00. Done in the format of a musical comedy, the performance sold out at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013 where it was shortlisted for the Innovative New Musical Theatre Award and went on to win an Off West End Award in 2015. NOVEMBER 22 Selmun Nature Walk Relaxed walk along the idyllic countryside roads of Selmun from 09:00 to 13:00. Organised by BirdLife. Taking a circular route starting at Selmun Palace, proceeding to the old Roman beehives and going onwards to relax at Imgiebah beach.
