21 Sport maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 1 JUNE 2016 FORMULA 1 ATHLETICS BOXING Kaltenborn slams 'unacceptable behaviour' SAUBER Team Principal Moni- sha Kaltenborn has criticised the "unacceptable behaviour" of both Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr, after the pair collided at the Mo- naco Grand Prix. The duo were running outside of the top 10 when Nasr was re- quested by Sauber to allow Erics- son through, with the proviso that the positions would be swapped back if the Swede did not make progress. Nasr questioned the decision and, moments later, Ericsson at- tempted a move at La Rascasse which resulted in contact, with both drivers retiring from the race within a few laps. Ericsson and Nasr both apolo- gised for their respective roles in the incident, but Kaltenborn re- mained unimpressed. "It was unacceptable behaviour by both drivers," she said. "The work of the whole team ended in a collision. "Marcus and Felipe both know how much work is put into every race weekend. They have the re- sponsibility to make it to the end of the race. "After evaluating the overall sit- uation, it was important to bring the fastest car as far as possible to the front, so that we were able to used any chances. "Our decision was based on the data from both cars. "After this, we have clarified the situation internally and both driv- ers are aware of their responsi- bilities – such an incident will not happen again." Haye willing to fight Bellew David Haye has opened the door to a potential fight with Tony Bellew BELLEW won the WBC cruiser- weight title on Sunday, knocking out Ilunga Makabu in the third round at Everton's Goodison Park. After the fight, the 33-year-old Liverpudlian called Haye to drop back down and take him on at cruiserweight. The south Londoner had earlier this month declared himself sat- isfied with his reincarnation as a bigger heavyweight. However, 35-year-old Haye re- sponded on Monday via his Insta- gram account, saying: "Congratu- lations, you won the vacant WBC title - a lifelong ambition realised. "But amongst all the excitement maybe that punch you took in the first round that dropped you ... your brain got scrambled because talking about knocking me out, you must have lost your mind. "After I've knocked out Shannon Briggs - you want to be on the list too? I'm knocking out all people who are talking too much. "I used to be a cruiserweight too so we're both the same height and Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club Summer of Sports kicks off this Sunday Sprint Triathlon in Bahar ic-Caghaq to kick off summer calendar BIRKIRKARA St. Joseph Sports Club will be launching their 16th edition of its Summer of Sport programme, on Sunday 5th June kicking off with the first race of the BSJ Sprint Triathlon Series which will make a welcome return to the Bahar ic-Caghaq Coast Road.
