maltatoday, SUNDAY, 26 MARCH 2017 IV Gaming ALTHOUGH the number of iGaming companies that operate in Malta is increas- ing on a monthly basis and thousands of Maltese now work within the industry, many are still not sure of some of the key roles that are available. One of the key aspects of iGaming is customer retention – keeping one's current customers happy. LeoVegas prides itself on going the extra mile and during the year organises multiple events and competitions for its clients. A couple of such events, including 'LeoMasters' were held in Malta recently and included the use of the Dragonara VIP Room. LeoMasters LeoMasters was launched on the com- pany's website and mobile app, where play- ers competed for a period of three weeks to make it to the finalists' stage. The competi- tion was divided into three categories – one for those who play slot games, another for roulette players and one for those who play blackjack. After three weeks, 12 people had made it to the final stage and were invited to Malta, together with a guest each, for a two-day experience which included vari- ous activities and ample sight-seeing. The highlight of the experience, however, was the LeoMasters Grand Finale at the Drag- onara VIP Room, where the 12 finalists had to compete between themselves in their respective categories. At the end of a fun-filled and exciting evening, three winners were crowned as the 'ultimate slots star', the 'ruler of the roulette table' and 'the best at blackjack'. They each returned home with €10,000 in prize money. Red or Black The second event that LeoVegas held at the Dragonara's VIP Room was 'Red or Black', a competition specifically tai- lored for the Nordic countries and which also started online and on the company's mobile app. The one-month competi- tion revolved around roulette and the top player, together with three other VIP play- ers were invited to Malta, together with a guest each. A whole itinerary was prepared for them to discover the islands but the highlight of their adventure in Malta was the 'Red or Black' grand finale at the VIP Room. The evening began with a blackjack tour- nament amongst the four players before a big bet by the winner of the online roulette campaign. He was given €10,000 in casino chips and had to play a single bet with the chance of doubling that amount, or leave with nothing. To determine this, he had to place a bet on either red or black, betting all the chips on whether he thought the ball would land on a red or black number. The finalist, a Swedish pizzeria owner, bet the €10,000 on black. The croupier spun the wheel in one direction and the ball in the other direc- tion as the VIP Room fell silent. Seconds seemed like hours, especially for the pizzeria-owner. The wheel was slowing down and so was the ball and when it slowed down more, gravity did the rest and the ball fell in a number slot… a black number! At that instance, the room broke out in cheers and jubilation as those present celebrated the lucky win which saw the pizzeria-owner win €20,000. LeoVegas said it was extremely pleased with the level of service of the staff of the Dragonara VIP Room throughout the dif- ferent stages – from planning to execution. "The staff at Dragonara helped us during the planning stages by providing input on how we can configure the room to suit our needs best," the company said. "They also helped us in decorating the room with our branding material and whatever we requested, they made it happen." LeoVegas praised Dragonara's food and beverage professionals who served food items that exceeded everyone's expecta- tions.
