Balzan created the first oppor- tunity on goal after twenty-five minutes. Bojan Kaljevic hit a shot that went marginally wide. St. Andrews responded on the 39th minute. Aidan Friggieri fired a shot that ended up wide. Oliver Spiteri's side went ahead on the 62nd minute. Following a free kick, the ball ended up in the path of Kaljevic who finished home from close range. St. Andrews hit back four min- utes later. From a free kick, Ivan Paz delivered a cross towards Bong Won Che whose header went over. On the 85th minute, St. An- drews were awarded a penalty after Christian Cassar fouled Dale Camilleri inside the pen- alty area. However, from the penalty spot, Paz finished high. St. Andrews were awarded an- other penalty on the 93rd min- ute. Bruno Giglio De Oliveira pushed an opponent inside the area and the referee whistled for a penalty. This time, Joseph Farrugia took charge of the shot and finished past Cassar. A minute later, Balzan scored the winning goal. Abdelkarim Nafti went on the right f lank and sent the ball towards Elkin Serrano Valero who finished behind Jake Galea. On the 95th minute, Ryan Fenech of Balzan was sent off for using abusive language to- wards the referee. Following this result, the Paolites are five points clear of Balzan and six of Valletta.
