Indeed, since 2010, most industries have become accustomed to slow growth while the tourism industry records above-average growth, making it one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. Today, international tourism represents one tenth of the world economy and accounts for one out of every 11 jobs on the planet. Here in Malta we know how important tourism is for our country but we also enjoy playing tourists ourselves. As the weather gets warmer and the days grow longer, thousands start planning their holidays, tours or cruises. Among the factors that support that important growth and the development of this industry is the opening of new destinations around the world, including developing countries. The choices for visitors have never been as diverse and abundant as they are today. Never have we had so many options: the number of airlines flying to and from Malta, the number of flights, the destinations … they continue to present new attractions and opportunities.
