They intend to use the will if it's in their favour or destroy it if it is not. So, one stormy night both couples break into the old house to carry out their mean plan. As always, the festival will be held at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, between the 9th and 12th of August. Entrance is free, with wine glasses and purses sold until 11pm and wine poured up to 11:30pm. Live cooking stalls will be serving a tempting variety of both traditional Mal- tese and international dishes to tease a wide range of palates. THEATRE SEPTEMBER 6-9 Boulevard Teatru Manoel and Teatru Malta join forces to present an adaption of one of Francis Ebe- jer's greatest theatrical works on the 25th anniversary of his death. This new production features leading Maltese ac- tors and dancers from Zfin- Malta directed by Toni Attard and choreographed by Paolo Mangiola. The play will be per- formed in Maltese. Tickets can be bought from the Treatru Manoel website. SEPT 14 -23 Stitching The banned play, Stitch- ing, will finally be showing in Malta, at the Manoel Theatre next September. Anthony Neil- son's masterpiece dealing with loss will be shown after it was banned for many years, hosted by Unifaun Theatre Produc- tion. FESTIVALS AUGUST 24 - 26 Malta Craft Beer Festival 2018 The first ever edition of the Malta Craft Beer Festival will take place in St Elmo on the 24, 25 and 26 of August 2018. The non- profit event will be marking its 8th edition this year, once again aiming to spread positive awareness of the environment, the arts and community in a festive and engaging way. And that means 100% of the funds raised from the festival goes to environmental and humanitar- ian causes. Activities AUGUST 17 Birgu Ghost Tour The beautiful and ancient maritime city of Vittoriosa, or Birgu as it is known by the Maltese, is the oldest settle- ment in the Grand Harbour area. Ideally situated for safe anchorage, the area has been occupied since prehistoric times, developing strong con- nections with maritime, mer- cantile and military activities over the centuries. This tour is a normal-paced walking tour of Vittoriosa by night. It is generally accessible but in- cludes streets with stairs that offer no alternative method of passage. Tickets are at 15 eu- ros per person. AUGUST 17-19 The Summer Carnival On Friday 17 and Saturday 18 August the Summer Carni- val will take place in Buġibba. The events starts off with the traditional ġostra, where competitors climb a long pole smeared in fat, in an attempt to reach the flag placed at its far end. Those who reach the flag get a prize, those who slip end up in the sea. On Sunday 19 August, the Carnival will move to the Marsascala prom- enade. The celebrations open at 7pm with a street parade all along the promenade in Salini Street. AUGUST 20 Night Market at Funky Monkey After the success of their first night market, Funky Monkey is hosting a second edition, The afternoon will be set up with a variety of stalls, with all sort of treasures, a jamming session (hosted by Musical Playground), and also authen- tic Thai food freshly cooked and prepared by the Good Thaimes Kitchen.
