15 COMMERCIAL maltatoday | SUNDAY • 12 AUGUST 2018 BNF Bank supports Gozo agricultural and industrial show BNF Bank is once again sup- porting the upcoming Gozo Agricultural, Industrial and Cultural Show happening at Villa Rundle on the 14th and 15th August during the Santa Maria feast, in Gozo. This annual event, also known as Il-Wirja ta' Santa Marija, gives local farmers the opportu- nity to display their finest local produce together with a range of other products ranging from farm animals and songbirds to wines, oils and honey. "We are delighted to be sup- porting this annual exhibition that strengthens awareness of the agricultural sector in Gozo," said Marie Josette Vella Magro, Manager of the Bank's Victoria branch. ''We augur a successful event to everyone involved in the show and look forward to see- ing the usual large crowds ad- miring the local crafts and agri- cultural products.'' Casa Arkati celebrates its 25th anniversary WEDNESDAY 1st August 2018 marked Casa Arkati's Silver Anniversary, the first purposely built privately owned home for the elderly. CareMalta and Casa Arkati have always been one and the same since CareMalta's inception coincides with the opening of Casa Arkati. Fr Joe Cilia and Fr Nazzare- no Saliba delivered a Mass in honour of this occasion with special guests present being Anthony Agius Decelis MP, Patrick Vella, Director of the Department of the Elderly and his assistant Alexia Vella. CareMalta CEO Natalie Briffa Farrugia delivered a speech and announced that in honour of this milestone CareMalta's management team-building event will be held in Rome where a special visit with the Pope has been set up. The residents enjoyed a special lunch with entertain- ment by Singer Joe Cutajar while a reception was also held for the guests. The event was concluded with the cutting of the cake by Facility Manager Carl Caruana. The cake was pro- vided by CaterEssence, the Vassallo Group's catering arm. Vassallo Group Chairman, Nazzareno Vassallo also spoke about Casa Arkati and CareMalta's achievements during the past 25 years and applauded this surprise visit planned for the management to celebrate on this special occasion. Casa Arkati officially opened on 1st August 1993 and is situated in Mosta over- looking the evergreen Wied il-Għasel and offers unob- structed views of the histori- cal city of Mdina. Those being cared for at Casa Arkati experience a comfortable stay, with spa- cious communal areas and a beautiful garden area. Casa Arkati was set up on the concept built upon the philosophy of "Integrity, Quality and Care" always en- suring the highest possible standards of care. BATS now licensed to conduct maintenance of Boeing aircraft BRAVO Aircraft Technical Services Limited (BATS) has announced that it has recently enhanced its already impres- sive maintenance scope of ap- proval with the addition of the Boeing B737 (Classic and New Generation) and B777-200/300 series aircraft. BATS now has TM Civil Aviation Directorate approval for the conduct of line main- tenance, Aircraft On Ground services and routine inspec- tions on the Airbus A320 fam- ily (including NEO), the widely operated B737 family with CFM 56 engines, and the B777 carrying either General Electric (GE90) or Rolls Royce (RB 211 Trent 800) engines. BATS Ltd remains the only independent EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) Part 145 Line Maintenance facility for commercial aircraft to hold Maltese approval by Trans- port Malta's Civil Aviation Directorate, and this widen- ing of the scope of their main- tenance approval reflects the determination of the AMO to establish itself as a frontrun- ner in the provision of premier quality aircraft maintenance services in Malta and further afield. Fiona Healy, Head of Busi- ness Strategy at BATS said that "BATS offers a one stop airworthiness and aircraft maintenance service to the industry, using its skilled and professional staff based both in Malta and in Ireland to ensure efficiency and low turnaround time, thereby facilitating maxi- mum aircraft utilisation and enhanced operator profit". "The increased scope of BATS certification, achieved under the excellent oversite and guidance of the Airworthi- ness Inspectorate staff of the Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate, strengthens our position as we may now carry out maintenance work up to Weekly Check on the Boeing types, as well as up to A-Check on the Airbus A320 family air- craft". BATS continues to go from strength to strength as the new aviation maintenance service provider in Malta, offering air- craft operators greater choice and scope in ensuring their aircraft are maintained cost- effectively, professionally and with confidence that mainte- nance conducted is carried out by highly experienced and qualified line maintenance cer- tifying staff. It is the intention of BATS to continue to expand and enhance their capability and scope of approval, ensuring that they will remain truly the 'one-stop airworthiness shop' for our clients.
