ISSUE OF TENDERS KARL AZZOPARDI NATIONALIST Party gran- dee Louis Galea, who is en- trusted with implanting a series of reforms for the em- battled opposition, has vowed to "discipline" internal critics who make public attacks on the party and fellow MPs. The former minister reit- erated his previous warn- ings on party radio station Net FM, during a one-to- one interview on the pro- gramme Feedback last week. Galea, a former PN sec- retary-general, has been tasked by PN leader Adrian Delia to draw up and imple- ment changes for the party after securing victory at a confidence vote in the Gen- eral Council brought against him by factions opposed to his leadership. "Those who comment, insult, instigate or attack without reason, will be told to refrain from doing so," Galea said on Net FM in what sounded as a direct address to his listeners and party members. "If they continue to do so after they've been warned, they will have to be disci- plined," Galea told listeners, who warned that loose lips on newspapers, social me- dia and phone-ins, and in- side the party corridors had brought nothing but losses for the party. "Nationalists, how long will it take for us to realise? How many of you think you are doing justice to the lead- er of the party when you use words that hurt others?" Galea warned that such ac- tions hurt the party's chanc- es of being elected. "When will we realise that we are doing nothing but mocking ourselves?" He also cautioned against the dishonest use of social media, vowing to report fake profiles to the police and the social media plat- forms themselves. "When I discover the use of fake ac- counts, I will be reporting such profiles to the police and Facebook themselves," Galea said. Following his appointment in July, Galea had already warned against the use of fake profiles, telling the media that a crackdown on fake profiles was part of his reform.
