Other 19 JANUARY Il-Ponta tal-Munxar Nature Walk The BirdLife Malta Events & Activities Committee will be organising a historical circular nature walk starting from Mar- saxlokk, and proceeding to St Paul's Military Battery, Bettina Tower, St. Paul's Chapel, Il-Pon- ta tal-Munxar, Xrobb l-Għaġin and back to starting point. This is an easy-to-moderate walk with some rough terrain. Ap- propriate footwear is recom- mended as the areas we will be visiting can be slippery if wet. Music TODAY Maltese Festival Night Concert The Malta Cultural Institute January 2020 Concert will be held in the "Venue 18" which forms part of the Junior College Complex. This hall was inau- gurated in November 2018 and provides a smaller and more in- timate atmosphere, which will render itself well to the theme of the evening, which will take the form of a Lecture/ Pres- entation about Maltese and Mediterranean Cuisine and a Maltese Folk Musical Evening. The audience will be closer to the speaker and the performers and questions by the audience will be most welcome. The spe- cial guest of the evening will be Karmen Tedesco, a well known expert in Maltese and Interna- tional Cuisine and Nutrition. She will be presenting samples of Maltese dishes and discuss- ing their nutritional value. All are invited to attend the concert. A contribution at the door is requested, to help cov- er some of the expenses of the MCI and the use of the Junior College "Venue 18". It showcases the latest trends and innovations in the ca- tering industry by Malta's leading suppliers. Purchas- ing managers, F&B manag- ers, chefs, restaurateurs and all major players within the Horeca industry visit the event to see the latest inno- vations within the catering world. This all happens in conjunction with the Malta Kulinarja, a chef 's competi- tion extravaganza that has over 200 leading profession- als battling out to win Malta's prestigious culinary awards. Malta Kulinarja is held under the auspices of WACS, there- by necessitating the presence of international judges to offi- ciate the event, together with the Malta Chef 's Society.
