3 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 16 NOVEMBER 2025 THEATRE Mirror, mirror on the wall MADC's Snow White has it all! AFTER the success of last year's Ebenezer Scrooge! The Panto, MADC is bringing the spar- kle, laughter and yuletide mag- ic back to Teatru Salesjan in Sliema this Christmas for an- other unmissable pantomime spectacular. Written by panto legend Alan Montanaro and directed by Ste- phen Oliver, Snow White sets the stage for a Christmas treat for all the family, with Teatru Salesjan's intimate setting once again offering the perfect back- drop for MADC's much-loved annual festive fixture. This year's production takes the classic story and gives it the signature MADC panto twist – complete with hilarious char- acters, catchy music, dazzling costumes and more magic than you can shake your wand at! Alan Montanaro straps on his heels to return as Dame, while the brilliant cast – playing fairy- tale princesses, larger-than-life villains, brave heroes and mis- chievous sidekicks – also fea- tures Melissa Mercieca as Snow White, alongside Sarah Jane Zrinzo, Noel Zarb, Karl Bartolo, Bertha Farrugia, Carla Fenech, Ali Kanay Demirci and Joe De- pasquale. What's more, a tal- ented ensemble will light up the stage (and the school holidays) with high-energy dancing and popular songs. Behind the scenes, MADC's creative team makes sure that Snow White will shine brighter than ever. Joining director Ste- phen Oliver is Ryan Abela as musical director, while Romual- do Moretti designs the sets, Alan Montanaro, assisted by Nicole Cuschieri, creates the stunning costumes and Martina Galea leads choreography. With special ticket prices available for children aged 3 to 11, Snow White is the ultimate festive family outing to make magical Christmas memories to- gether. "I can't wait to celebrate Christmas and New Year with MADC again in Snow White," says writer and performer Alan Montanaro. "The story may be a classic, but we've given it a whole new layer of sparkle. It's full of jokes and all the panto fun the kids will love, plus a bit of good, clean mischief for the grown-ups. For what is Christ- mas without a panto – and what is panto, without a hearty help- ing of joy, laughter and happily ever after?" MADC's Snow White per- forms in English at Teatru Sales- jan, Sliema, from 23 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, with both matinee and evening per- formances available. Booking is open at www.madc.com.mt. Children under the age of three will not be permitted inside the theatre. Parking will be available at the St Patrick's Ground on a first-come, first-served basis. This production is supported by Dee Spas Wellness, Welbee's Supermarket, Elia Caterers and Creative Europe Desk Malta. All photos by Justin Mamo
