Featuring Malta Philharmonic Orchestra resident conductor Michael Laus will be directing works from three pillars of the Romantic Era. Featuring DJs Belights, Littledread and Lu Scratch Lion. MARCH 28 Lacrimosa Concert at Senglea Parish Church at 18:45 by The Marivyan Quartet, made up of a quartet of singers that perform different pieces, including solos, duets and ensembles. Also featuring special guest singer Albert Buttigieg. The concert will include pieces from Mozart's Requiem to Baroque and contemporary music. Programme includes: Frederick Septimus Kelly - Elegy for Strings: In Memoriam Rupert Brooke Paul Hindemith Trauermusik with soloist Karl Mifsud; Giovanni Battista Pergolesi Stabat Mater with soloists Francesca Aquilina – soprano, Clare Ghigo – mezzo soprano. Led by Malta Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Christopher Muscat. MARCH 28, 29 The Creepers 5th anniversary gig Live blues gig at the Music Room, St James Cavalier, Valletta at 18:00. Showcasing The Creepers' new repertoire in a 2-hour set marking their 5th anniversary. The Creepers will be accompanied by a number of local artists who have played with the band on various occasions throughout the years. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL MARCH 27 Carmelo Mangion: Visions of a Maltese Master Exhibition of works by the influential late painter at Casino Maltese, Valletta. Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 08:30 - 18:00; Tuesday and Friday: 08:30 - 20:00 and Saturday, Sunday, Public WHAT'S ON TODAY Sunday Walk: Xemxija to Golden Bay Walk from Xemxija to Golden Bay organised by MeetUp-Malta.com. Starts at 11:00. The walk will be approximately three hours long. In Guardia Parade Historical re-enactment at Fort St Elmo place, Valletta at 11:00. The re- enactment portrays the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St John in charge of military affairs. During the re- enactment, of the fort's garrison - some 55 re-enactors in all – are kitted-out in their uniforms to perform their military drill to demonstrate to the Grand Bailiff its state of readiness. Entrance is at €7 for adults and €3 for children and young adults up to 18 years old. Cordia String Quartet Cordia String Quartet will perform Joseph Haydn's The Seven Last Words of Christ at Tal-Pilar Church in West Street, Valletta, at 11:30. Entrance is against a recommended donation of €10 towards the University's Research Trust (RIDT). The Environment: Our World, Our Home Photographic exhibition at The Atrium, St James Cavalier Valletta. Launched by the Environment Ministry following the announcement of a national competition. The subject matter of the photographic competition was the environment and our relation to it. The photos needed to reflect the positive and negative aspects of human intervention, ways of safeguarding the environment and enhancing it, as well as our awareness or lack of it needed to be explored in a creative way. Mara: Perspettivi Collective exhibition at Palazzo Pereira, 224, Republic Street, Valletta. Featuring works by Bernice Buhagiar, Charlene Calleja, Sean Camilleri, Karen Caruana, Matthew Cassar, Luca Cauchi, Joe Chetcuti, Jessica Debattista, Glenn Ellul, Sara Ezabe, Anna Galea, Agatha Grima, Franco Navarro, Ray Piscopo, Marlon Polidano, Mark Schembri, Enrique' Tabone, Madeleine Gera, Mary Pitre' and Giovanna Castaldi. Old Times Unifaun Theatre production of Harold Pinter's drama at St James Cavalier, Valletta at 20:00. Directed by Chris Gatt. Cast includes Mikhail Basmadjian, Laura Best and Pia Zammit. Programme host Saviour Balzan brings the local councils' affairs to 'Reporter' in the next edition tomorrow, discussing them with Justice and Local Government Minister Owen Bonnici and Opposition local government spokesman David Agius.
