They did not waste any time in taking the lead. Just after six min- utes of play, off a cross by Zack Muscat, Ellinton Antonio Costa Morais served Edmond Agius who beat goalkeeper Yenz Cini to make it 1-0. The match turned worse for Mosta on the 67th minute when Onyekachi Donatus Okonkwo was sent off. On the 84th minute, a perfect freekick by Juan Quero Barraso left no chance for the Mosta goalkeeper with the score becoming 2-0 for Birkirkara. Mosta went close to scoring on the 88th minute, but James Brin- cat's shot hit the crossbar. In added time, Birkirkara sealed the result thanks to a powerful shot by Ryan Camenzuli that beat goal- keeper Cini. In the other match, Balzan and Pembroke played to a goalless draw. Pembroke went close to scoring on the 60th minute when Gustavo Vil- lalobos' shot hit the woodwork after it was deflected by the goalkeeper. One minute from time, Balzan also went close to scoring, but Al- fred Effiong's shot hit the wood- work after it was also deflected by the goalkeeper. Both teams had to settle for a goalless draw from a match with lit- tle action in front of goal. FOOTBALL
