maltatoday, SUNDAY, 20 DECEMBER 2015 II Christmas II Christmas Christmas activities to be held all over Gozo MINSTER for Gozo Anton Refalo has announced that the Ministry for Gozo is once again organizing and get- ting together a series of activities and events which will be held all over Gozo until 3 January, 2016. During the press conference the minister explained that a specialized Committee had been set up earlier this year to oversee the organization of the events. The Minister said that the Christmas season is sure to provide the perfect opportunity for visitors to discover the magic of Gozo. Authentic gastronomy, religious ceremonies and traditional local celebrations will ensure that Gozo as a winter destination appeals to eve- rybody. Of particular interest is surely to be the live cribs in Ghajnsielem, Xaghra and Nadur. These live cribs are one of a kind and not to be missed. One will also have the opportunity to enjoy the various still and mechanized cribs set up in homes and churches and which are most artistically created from various media - a true feast for the eye. Other attractions adding value to the Gozo experience are the live pageants, religious processions and other cultural and seasonal activities. These include concerts, religious events, actitvites for children, Christmas markets and the Christmas Parade. Street illuminations and the traditional decorations of the facades of the houses and shops also lend a hand in creating the right note for the celebration of Christmas. Maria Farrugia, as Chairperson of the Christmas in Gozo Committee, said that the programme planned for this year is an ambitious one and is sure to give the visitor a most memorable and enjoyable experience during this special time of the year. A brochure featuring details of the events which will be held was launched during the press conference. This bro- chure is being distributed around Malta and Gozo and may also be accessed on the christmasingozo website and Facebook page. Refalo thanked all those involved for the work being carried out, in particu- lar the various Directorates within the Ministry for Gozo, the Malta Tour- ism Authority and the various tourism operators and Locals Councils which are supporting the event. Refalo also announced that a delegation from Bethlehem will be participating in some of the activities.
