maltatoday, SUNDAY, 31 JANUARY 2016 X Shipping & Logistics ShipLowCost.com adds depots in the Netherlands, Spain and Austria SHIPLOWCOST.COM is an online logistic application launched by Express Trailers in 2012 to assist both con- sumers and businesses bring their online shopping or pur- chases of inventories to Malta via Express Trailers' hubs in Europe. ShipLowCost keeps growing with the addition of three new depots, one in The Netherlands, one in Spain and another one in Austria bringing the total number of European depots to a total of eight depots. The service started operating from four depots, in the UK, Germany, Italy and France with the addition of Sicily which came a few months after the service was launched. "ShipLowCost.com was a conscious and careful imple- mentation of our manage- ment's foresight on e-com- merce. The application is an online solution complementing e-commerce business. We are logistics people, providing Total Logistic Solutions, and ShipLowCost.com takes our service offering online. The application is popular among customers who would like to conclude their purchasing online, whether for business or personal, whenever, and from wherever they happen to be. ShipLowCost was carefully designed to be seamless and customer-friendly. Our cus- tomers can take advantage of our expertise in logistics, and trust our risk awareness, directly through this portal by accessing ShipLowCost.com. Needless to say, the physi- cal movement of the goods is done by Express Trailers," explains Franco Azzopardi, Chairman and CEO of Express Trailers. "When it comes to inter- net shopping and delivering the products to Malta, trust remains a big issue amongst Maltese online buyers espe- cially when they come to have their purchases shipped to Malta and delivered to their home. Being the leading transport and logistics com- pany in Malta with a strong foothold across Europe and beyond, we enjoy a high de- gree of trust and this is what made our ShipLowCost service successful from the very start," added Franco Azzopardi. Johann Vella, Director and Head of Business Support was the person who saw the ShipLowCost service take off and today is responsible for its success. "I am proud to say that ShipLowCost is another suc- cess story for Express Group because it has been growing solidly since day one. Besides confirming the popularity of ShipLowCost, the addition of these three new depots in The Netherlands, Spain and Aus- tria are an effort to accommo- date the growig needs of new customers who want to shop and do business with new mar- kets," said Johann Vella. "Malta is after all an island and cross-border online shop- ping remains a big reality which is always more prevail- ing. We saw an opportunity in this and the success that Ship- LowCost.com has garnered over these past three years, proved us right. Customers buying from any of these coun- tries, choose the depot in that country, ask for their product to be delivered to that depot and ShipLowCost delivers their product from their depot of choice right up to their door," added Johann Vella. Tapping into a customer service with a door to door delivery service was a different challenge for Express Trail- ers whose core business over the past 40 years has been dealing with transportation and logistics services for busi- nesses. "We invested in a solid plat- form, an efficient website and a strong e-shopping infrastruc- ture. Our service is backed by our long years of experience in the transport business which has already given us an excel- lent reputation. Our reliability and safety have been tried and tested and we are proud of this service which we plan to keep expanding and improving for the benefit of our increasing customer base," concluded Franco Azzopardi. Being the leading transport and logistics company in Malta with a strong foothold across Europe and beyond, we enjoy a high degree of trust ShipLowCost has three new depots – one each in the Netherlands, Spain and Austria
